I've got a 481 CI 8.5:1 motor built that I'm looking to turbocharge.
Do you think that rear mounted 70's would be a little lazy to spool?
I'm torn between 66's or going with 70's. Most folks seem to think that the rear mounted 66's will work fine but no one really knows if 70 will spool quick enough to be practical.
If you've got applicable experience I sure would appreciate your input!

Thanks!
is that in a C6?? what block are you running?? sounds fun!
i think the 66's would work pretty well. best speaking to someone like Dr.Turbo on here though.
Too funny! After a little research "Dr. Turbo" is an old old friend of mine.
I need to catch up with him. He's had a lot more turbo experience in the last few years than I have!
I'm actually leaning towards a couple of 76's rear-mounted. I wonder if that would be terribly sluggish. I just don't think it will be with 481 CI pushing them. Hmmmmm.

well how about a pair front mounted??? have you seen HP turbos twin turbo kit?? they can take anything upto 76mm units. not sure if it would fit the C6 but they fit the C5. speak to corvette4ever on here as he is running a 427 C5R motor with 76s.
cheers
Chris.
PS here is the HP TUrob site. ask corvette4ever though as this link is only to a distributer not the actual guys making them.
[QUOTE=TehZ;1563838965]It's looking like the tall deck is going to require WAYYYY too much modification to make fit (heightened exhaust ports are problematic also).

sorry to hear the tall deck wont fit! its a real shame as it would be great to see a 481 twin turbo on the streets!
