Swapping motors on Sunday - with the TT system should I go as planned and only remove the motor or do you guys find it easier removing the entire drivetrain at once? (I have a lift)
I would think that since you have to remove all the APS hoses either way, that it would be easier to just remove the turbos, and manifolds, then remove the motor.
BTW, what improvements did you make to the LS2 you're putting back in? Assuming its an LS2.
This is how I do them. This particular car we originally were going to pull just the heads, but found severe cylinder wall scoring at 12 and 6 o'clock in every cylinder but one. Motor Came out and was built very strong to handle the new power. Honestly I have a feeling it is 10x harder to come out through the top without a lift and powertrain jig like we made. Good luck with yours. I have three more to do before the end of this month.
*edit* sorry I did not see that you had a C6 and I posted a pic of a C5. Same concept though...you get the idea.

Just how I have done it although your stands are a lot nicer than the ones I used, but they worked the same.
