I've been asked to produce an intercooler for the APS twin turbo system for those that are experiencing overheating.
I built one that looks and fits like this: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2136517
It has left and right inlets and a lower tank that tapers towards the middle.
I don't actually have an APS car to check fitment and to build the ductwork and shrouding needed.
If anyone has an APS car and would like to donate it for a little R&D, let me know.
I'll install it all for free, if you just cover parts cost.
I like it and am wanting to do the same exact thing with mine, but what are you doing with the oil tank?
Also what do you expect to see for Intake temps with this system over the dual intercooler system APS has? We are currently getting close to 130-140 degree's after the intercoolers and we know this is not only robbing power but forces us to run 100 octane to insure there is no knock.(above 12psi)
I would love to have one solid intercooler up front if I know my oil temps wont go higher then what I'm currently seeing and my IAT's drop significantly!
Good work so far, looks great! What do you expect this to cost when finished? You could also send a prototype to IPS and work with them on finishing it, and use my car as a test subject, I wont complain!
I'll let you use my car if you want, just cover the shipping cost. From Ia to Ca and back should only be $1400
I"m looking to push the limits of the APS kit on my WarHawk 427 APS car. I've upgraded almost all the parts but the intercoolers are most likly the weak link in the whole system. I really don't need the oil cooler since my racing rad has one in it.
Let me know if you find a fix to the problem I will be the first to buy one.
Andy, I will be looking for another supercharger kit soon. I have the Procharger P1SC in my current 408 CID C6. Just wondering what the flow rates of your Vortec are compared to the Procharger P1SC and D1SC. Thanks.
Are you looking for a C6 or a C6Z car? Approximate cost on parts?
Preferably a Z06, but I guess I really need one of each to check out.
I'm guessing about $1500 for everything. That's probably guessing a little on the high side.
I'm not sure what I'll have to fab up as far as ductwork is concerned.
We'll have to make a sheet metal top shroud also.
I have a LS7 in my car and having some problems with the trans temps. Some say it's the convertor and others say it the flow valve and then there's always the other opinions about where the heat is being made. I just purchased your bracket from you
