Default Boost reference or no?

I've just about finished my new badass fuel system with the lonnies pumps and -8 feed.

Should I boost reference my regulator or not? Reason I'm asking is that I have to set the base pressure at 58 psi and I have 1:1 aeromotive regulator, I run about 18 lbs of boost. That's going to be over 70 psi at the rails under high boost load if the pumps can keep up (which I'm assuming they will).

Why do you have to set your base pressure at 58?

You could set your base pressure at something like 50 and just change your IFR table in the tune.

Regardless, I'd say you could probably even run it at 76. I think the other question would be if your injectors keep up. If they can keep up at 58psi and your idle is ok then you're fine without the reference. The reference just allows you to run larger injectors with more control at idle.

Yes, set it @ 58 PSI so that the jet pump in the passenger's side tank still works.

Yes, you need to boost reference (1:1) your FP regulator. Use an Aeromotive like everyone else. We use the stock feed line as the return line.

Thanks Edward - I have converted the stock feed to a return and ran the -8 through the rocker up to the fittings I welded on the rails. I read your previous thread about setting the base to 58 psi, thanks for the insight.

I'm itching to get to the dyno!
