Default New-HD Tensioner for the A&A brackets!

Hi guys, I've sold quite a few of these in the past while and figure I would share this with you guys. Basically what it does is replace the stock tensioner with a HD truck version. This truck tensioner is a "bolt together" tensioner versus the stock stamped piece-this prevents flexing and makes sure the belt tracks accurately. It also takes "twice" as much force to open over the stock tensioner which in turn puts more pressure on the belt especially around the crank pulley where all the slip happens. All it takes is for you to drill and tap 1 hole and it's on.

Cost is $120 plus shipping.

I also have 6061 hard anodized black pulleys to replace your stock pulley's. There available in 8 or 10 rib configuration.

Cost is $100 each or 2 for $180.

I upgrade the tensioner on all the cars and upgrade the pulleys to everyone who's looking to make big power!

PM me with any questions-thanks!

Newer kits come with pretty stout tensioner... Stock unit is not installed on bracket. Is this stiffer then new one being supplied?

Unless Andy's changed it in the last few months Mike. the last bracket I got was the same old tensioner-I'll post a pic of it.

This is the tensioner that came on my bracket and other A&A brackets I've installed. It's fine on 6 ribs, but I've found on 8 ribs when your going all out, it's a little week. I've sold the HD one to several guys who were breaking the stock unit or were watching boost flutter up top-this really helps fix that

That is the tensioner Andy currently uses. I was having problems with my 8-Rib set-up and bought Arun's tensioner to find my belt now tracks much better with no excess where as I was seeing from the kit tensioner arm bending.

Just checked same tensioner.

How much stronger would you think yours is?

Mike, it takes twice as much force to open it-plus it doesn't flex either. Plus the arc is shorter keeping it tighter to the crank.

Would this work on a Novi system? I have plenty of belt slip in fear of what would break if over tighten the belt.

You definately should not have any belt slip from the ECS tensioner, we take a hefty tensioner, and replace the internal spring for more tension on top of that. I would make sure the tensioner is in it's fully openeed possition at rest.
Take our tensioner tool and open the tensioner all the way to see where yours is presently sitting. Or you can send a picture of your tensioner and I'll take a look at it for you.
There is definately something off, and you have no need to purchase any other drive systems, or different tensioners, we have countless logs of cars with standard 8 rib belt drives perfectly holding boost to low nine second passes.

PM me if I can help get the belt taken care of.

No worries Doug, just like Doug stated-get the tensioner ( tensioner above the crank) to 12 o'clock and give it one full turn on the blower bracket. Take the car out for a drive and make sure the belt is good and hot before you do this.

Bump...for a great product and a super nice guy.

Thanks Arun, I used the part number you gave me, made the spacers similar to what you have pictured here, and bolted it on. It worked out perfectly! I'm glad you did the leg work on this one, it saved me a lot of time.
