Default Help not building much boost

Okay I bought the used A&A kit that andy had up for sale just a few weeks ago. Well i got it installed and it continues to eat belts like crazy when its wide open. so I had it laser aligned. Still eating the edge of the belt. so anyways I installed a fuel and vacuum/boost gauge. the car is pulled down 21 in vacuum but will only build up to 4.5 lbs of boost. I have the 3.8 pulley on the car. HELP HELP HELP

Do you have a stock crank pulley/acc? I recently had a problem with the belt they sent me being slightly too large. this caused there to be a lack of tension in the belt/ little boost due to slipage. Is you boost linear or does it go to ~4.5 then studder around there?

If it's still wearing the side of the belt, it is not aligned correctly... the laser tools are great, but not easy to use correctly, and I agree with the above post, sounds like belt slip to me as well... when aligned properly the belt will not wear uneven...

Watch to see if your boost flattens out up top. That is caused by either a boost leak or belt slip. In my case it was a boost leak from the bypass valve. I was losing 3psi boost when the O-ring popped off the valve seat.

what boost are you shooting for and what other mods do you have, headers/exhaust and a ported/polished intake manifold and/or throttle body can have a huge impact on how much boost you see.

Car is basically stock z51. it has stock crank pulley. the boost is climbing and flattening out at 4 to 4.5. I was hoping to see somewhere around 8 to 10 with this pulley setup. I just bought a new belt the HD greenback 100K belt. I tell you one thing this thing is definetly heavy duty it is super thick. Anyways hopefully that will help. Im going back over all the fasteners and hoses and everything to check for leaks but it seems like everything is good and tight.

So are you logging the boost per rpm (or at least have a gauge on it)? If it is not linear ie. not gradually increasing at a steady rate then you have a problem. This problem could be belt slip or a boost leak. if it is steadily increasing and not flatening out then i feel its a differnt can of worms.

Yes I listed that I installed a boost and vaccuum gauge. the boost is gradually increasing but will not go over the 4 to 4.5 lbs of boost. I bought the HD belt and im gonna put it on in the morning and see if perhaps it is belt slip but its eating my lunch.
