Default Ls3 ??

OK since my accident and the demise of my 05 I am looking at getting an 08 that I found for a good deal. Some of you know my 05 was pretty nice and put down over 650 rwhp. The question I have is how does the LS3 compare to the LS2? How are they at high hp on stock bottom end. I always see many LS2 stock bottom end cars over 750 rwhp. Is the LS3 just as reliable as the LS2? Thanks for any info. I'm deciding on the 08 base coupe and a C5 ZO6.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...or-ls3-c6.html

Hook yourself up with the LS3 and throw in cam only to hold you over untul you can afford to go FI...these two are fierce!

I have a 08 LS3 A6 and I am about to have Taylor from Dallas Performance install my TT kit and plan on 600-650rwhp with the motor staying bone stock. I have actually heard and seen that the LS3 motor is stronger in pretty much every way there is. The Block is stronger than the LS2 and debatably the LS7. The heads stock flow better than most ported numbers i have seen from LS2 heads. The intake flows better than the LS2 FAST so really i dont see any you wouldnt be able to put down 700 easily with the exact same setup you had before just with the LS3.

I think you will be VERY happy with a LS3 car without a doubt.

I got to ancy to answer that I didnt read your last sentance of your first post. I actually traded in my C5 Z06 for my 08 A6 Coupe and do not regret it at all. I am so happy with the change. Dont get me wrong I loved my Z06 but the 08 is just such a nicer car, quieter, faster, comfortable. I was also very hesitant about changing from the Z06 with a 6spd manual tranny to the A6 but after driving it I am glad I made the auto decision. With the 08 reprogramming of the A6 TCM the paddleshifting and just shifting in general is really great. Of course everything could be tweaked atleast a little bit so I do want to have the tranny tuned with different shift points and quicken the paddleshifts even faster. I have a 3LT and got a great deal on it in December and I definately recommend it over even the C5Z.
