kai,

No question is ignorant and we're happy to try and help you find an answer.

OK, let's look at your question:

is it possible to set up nitrous to come on in 3rd gear and up
Yes, it's possible, but you'll have to do it manually if you're using the stock VCM. There isn't a computer based function on the Z06/manual C6 that knows what gear you're in. I assume you're in a Z06 or a manual C6?

only without having to hit a switch on the 2 - 3 shift.
I think you mean is there a way to do it without you physically flipping a switch once you're in third? If so, then the answer is yes - but you will have to build a little gadget that will sense when you hit 4th gear (it's not as hard as it sounds!!!). I've done it and here is a pic:

If you notice, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear all have triggers! This is my boost by gear setup (it's crude but it works PERFECTLY) but it's perfectly suitable for what you're looking to do! All it took was some mild aluminum fabrication (to mount the switches on the shifter base) and 3 arm-style trigger switches.

yah i just put mine on a switch, I spray a dry shot in first, then flip the switch to spray the fogger in 2nd and then flip the switch to dry in 3rd and then again for fogger in 4th. (automatic car), but I do that so I wont have transmissions issues, I just spray the big shot in strong gears only. and the twitch is a 2 way toggle.
