I was looking into a NOS kit and was wondering what the benefits and negatives are in a wet vs. dry system. I know the difference but which is better. Im looking at about a 100 shot possibly for strip use only. Thanks for your input.
If you are looking to spray a 100 shot, I would go with the HSW dry kit with the interface. The Interface will give you the tuning capabilities you need to dial it in. HSW provides you with a go-by to get it setup (runs rich for safety) and then you can dial it in on the dyno with a wideband to get the A/F where you want it. The kit includes a plate and the installation is a breeze. You'll be amazed how easy the kit is to install. There is some wiring involved but HSW provides you with clear diagrams to connect everything correctly. I highly recommend a window switch to control nitrous activation.
The beauty of the kit is its virtually stealth under the hood. While I proudly display my bottle in the hatch area, my engine bay has a stock appearence. Guys routinely come by my car at the track and are trying to figure out why I'm running a 10.7 without any glaring mods under the hood.
Which is easier to install? Which requires less tuning? Do I have to remove or replace the injectors for a wet kit?
The Dry kit is easier, but honestly the wet kit doesn't involve that much more work. You will not need to purchase injectors with a 100 shot (wet or dry). The factory injectors are capable of providing enough fuel for the dry shot. Injectors are not a variable with a 100 wet. The fuel solenoid/jet provides the necessary fuel.
Give the search function a try. We've beaten this one to death in the past.
The search function never seems to wanna work when I try it.
Sorry. Im just trying to gain some knowledge. I dont want a debat just some opinions and information so I can make a educated decision when I decide to purchase my kit.
IMO If you are going to stay around 100 a dry is fine BUT you may need injectors. This was an issue with me. Injector duty was 88%
Too high for a dry kit IMO. So I went Wet. As long as you dont spray
below 3000 you will be fine. Wether you go wet or dry install every
safety devise available. cheap insurance. I also carry a fire ex in the car
just in case. Better safe than sorry!
Good luck what ever you choose!
Highway blasts VS. Track Thrashing ? the wet kit is fine at the track, bottle pressure will hold easy with just a 100 shot,on the highway u may feel it go rich when ur pressure falls off,i run both dry and wet. just for that reason. the tune is gonna be the only thing that makes u happy, cause if it's wrong,u wont like it..........

What is entailed in the tune for NOS? How do I know if I need bigger injectors? I think I'm going to stay around 100 shot due to the fact Im already modded and I wanna stay in relatively safe range. Thanks for all the info guys.
Nitrous express MAf kit (wet). Have been running it for years with no issues. Install is a breeze and with a 100 shot no tune is needed. NX is located in Wichita Falls so they are only a few hours from you. You will not need new injectors for there kit.

I made 600rwhp on a totally stock Ls2,A4. stock injectors,Longtubes and air intake, 150 TNT wet kit, 100 shot dry,....with a stand alone fuel system. are u an Auto or M6 ? u cant go blind,u gotta check uR A/F. Ed Wright is real close to u,918-446-3019,he's usually got a 2 week waiting list,....Kechme on Ls1Tech tunes my car,....Sean Freese @ Corvettes of Dallas,...either way,pay for insurance and tune it,....

All I can recommend is PLEASE call our Performance Tech - Sean Freese.
He has been doing this for 15 years and been written about in numerous publications. He will be happy to send you down the right path.

+1 on the no tune needed. Possibly retard timing just a little.

You need to do a scan in HPTuners or efi live. and do some full throttle pulls. Then you can check the Injector duty cycle. It will tell you EXACTLY what it is. NOS is not something to guess at.
Wet is far from being safe. I'd put my faith in OEM metering equipment and injectors than a fuel noid that can fail. Granted there is technology to shut down the system if it goes lean (due to fuel noid failure) but I've seen numerous users not implement the safety feature. I've used both and currently have a wet setup in my car right now for testing.

I run 2 Nitrous noids for safety in case one gets stuck open!
Safety is where its at!
running two n20 noid is a fail safe one can stick open and the other stays closed that way the n20 does not spray. On the other hand if you have one fuel noid and is sticks closed. you are in a bad spot. In my personal experience I have had 3 noid crap out on me all three we NOS brand power shot n20 noids one stuck closed it was a dry kit so nothing happened. One I was using as a purge and all it did was dump my full bottle out the purge. The other one that stuck open was from a 5115 nos kit where there is a pressure regulator between the two n20 noids. it dumped the bottle out the regulator. Nothing was damaged in any event. If these were used as singles on a wet kit I could have had big problems. I switched to Nitrous espress wet kits on both cars since I have had no problems. In conclusion NOS power shot noids are complete junk.
