Default F1 for LS7

Was going to put an F1 on my 06 Z06. Question is what other mods would anyone suggest. Already have 1 7/8" Kooks headers with Kooks mid pipe W/cats stock catback. Also have cam w/springs and retainers.Am looking for cam card to get the exact specs. Car makes 553rwhp now.Figured I would get the F1 so when the stock bottom let go and I built a forged motor I would have head unit already.Just have to run a very big pulley to start with. Thanks for your input.Car is used strictly for pleasure.

Any reason why you are going with the F1?

Go with an A&A kit. We have been 8's with it and have made 965rwhp. They are by FAR the best kits out. Let me know if you have any ?'s and i can get you some pricing. Where are you located?

was looking to do an F1 for future upgrades when I do have to build a motor. Correct me if I am wrong the F1 head unit is not that much more than the D1 when ordering the kit? Also would the F1 not produce better torque and run cooler air temps. considering it wont have to spin as fast as D1? Was looking at the F1-A. I am located in Houston,TX. Again thanks for any help in this.

Honestly, best thing you can do from my perspective is to deal with Taylor at Dallas Performance, I know its a little ways away but the closest guy I would use! Taylor will be the best solution for you to purchase the proper parts, and install, and tune your car if needed. An yes I sell all the same pieces, I just recommend the personal process of picking a trusted valued shop in your area. If you need quotes I can help as well of course.

Other wise, the F1 is a very good choice, procharger head units are industry leaders, the only issue with the procharger kits are their intercooler designs are not the most effiecent on the market, and you will need to do some customization / retro desgining, which Taylor could certainly create, locally for you.

For the current run, plan on a fuel system, some gauges for safety measures, intercooler upgrade, and then build the engine for ultimate F.I. potential.

Good luck

Thanks Brandon

As Brandon mentioned, you would be wise to pick your tuner first and then follow their lead as far as what works and what doesn't.

You are on the right track!

Our system with the YSi-Trim is nothing to sneeze at...
In addition to Taylor at Dallas Performance, you can also try Horsepower Engineering or Steven at Late Model Racecraft... both in Houston...

I agree Steve, YSI / F1 / NOVI2000 are all capable of 900+ rwhp.

Thanks for all the input. Would anyone suggest methanol as an added safety feature due to the heat that is known for Houston summers? If so what kit would be recommended. Also what intercooler would anyone suggest over the ProCharger cooler and why is it better. Larger overall? Larger in and oultlets?

Methanol is a VERY good choice imho, I run the Alky control / Dallas Performance modded system, Taylor does some very neat mods to the kit, it is the best Methanol injection system on the market, period... and as far as intercooler the Procharger intercooler is pretty darn good... I believe you are one of the very first guys that really "gets it" start with an F1A or "C" for that matter, and you'll be VERY happy you did... Several of us have made decent power to CRAZY power through the procharger intercooler, now that they "flipped" the fmic, they have really stepped up with their kit design...

really appreciate all the input. Any other ideas or suggestions? What gauges are really needed? Was thinking fuel press.,boost, and A/F would be a good combo.
