I said I was going to do this a long time ago, but things kept dragging out and I never got it done (the install nor the posting of it)...
Well, I finally did get it done, and surprisingly enough I now have everything installed and working! So, like it or hate it... Here's how the custom gauge pod ended up!
This is my second revision of designing a non-Apillar pod, as my first revision sucked pretty bad. The gauges are a PLX DM100 and ODB 200, and I have a boost and an AFR module hooked up to them as well. Running the cables in a Corvette was a nightmare... I wouldn't exactly call these Corvette friendly gauges. That said, if anyone is looking into these and wants to know what is necessary to make them work, I'll be happy to help where I can.
You'll notice (hopefully) that the gauges resemble the C6 ones pretty closely... I had to design them in Gimp (the open-source equivalent of Photoshop). If anyone with PLX iMFD's want's them, PM me and I'll be happy to email them to you.

Very nice job!
How is visibility in that area while driving?
That would be the only potential problem that might crop up, but overall, that is very well done.
It doesn't really seem to get in the way too much. It would most likely make keeping an eye on a curb or something else really low pretty difficult. I've been driving it for a few days now and haven't run into any issues yet (no pun intended).
That said, I do wish I could have made it an inch or so shorter. I may eventually try my hand at it again and see if I can compact the design a little. It would be nice if I could only have the screen visible, and hide the natural gauge bezel (leaving only the OLED one).
All in all, I'm really liking it so far. I really didn't want to have a plastic A-pillar, and this seemed to fix that quite nicely.
Nice custom job! Somewhere I saw a kit which utilized the ashtray/lighter area for a two-guage set-up but I haven't been able to find more information. Does anybody have any leads on such a package?

It should not be too tough to make.
You just have to take the front/center console off and hog out the ashtray area to fit the gauge bodies, and buy a flat black piece of plastic to fit the gauges.
There are torx screws in that area, so you would have to allow for those if possible when clearing that area, so that the console doesn't move around too much.
A little fabrication, and it should fit right in.
I thought about making one, but I just didn't want to buy the gauges!

If there is such a kit, I wouldn't mind getting it as well... I would love to have a few more gauges in the car, but I would hate to make the dash look too gaudy. Ash tray would be a good place for for a couple.
