Anyone running this combination of Nitto Invos?
255/35/18 front
305/30/19 rear
I'm putting down 542 RWHP 482 RWTQ
The Toyo Proxes T1 R are not holding to the ground with my C6 A4 tranny.
So I'm thinking of going to the set up mentioned above and would like to know if anyone has that setup and how is it working for them.
OR
OK, Anyone running Hankook evos
255/35/R18
305/30/19
If so, how do you like em and do you think they will out perform the Toyo Proxes T 1s I now have?
Thanks,

I don't even think any of those tires mentioned can hook with over 500Hp, you need to get some Mickey Thompson street tires, just go the Mickeythompsontires.com.
I have Toyo R888's in 305/30-19. The traction is superb but the handling has suffered noticably from the BFG KDW's I had IMO. They are "swimmy" when changing lanes on the highway.

Had/have the Invo combo you outlined... Although better then supercars, don't expect to hook 1st or most of 2nd gear. They are decent in the rain and don't seem to fall off as much when cold or in colder weather. With a good alignment they do okay, but would have to say high speed stability seems a little reduced.

Edit: I have M6 so you may do a little better with A4.
This is so confusing.
Now I was recommended that Hankook V12 Evos are a little less sticky then the Invos and Hankook will give better mileage wear (30-35 K mikes) and Nittos around 20 K miles...
I'm going with larger than stock rear tires which will give a little more grip...
I appreciate the input and comments...
It's not the larger width that gets you more grip, its the compound. BTW, there's no way you're going to get 30k out of a vette tire. Especially on a high HP application.

Well as 5 liter eater said, you'll never see anything resembling 30k miles out of any tire if you use car's potential every now and then. I killed supercars with stock HP in less then 8000 miles.
The Invos are a good tire at that price point, that being they can be had online (305s) for less then $290 shipped each. I'd personally set this as your minimum threshold for traction. Otherwise a Honda with a big fart can will eat you up in 1st gear and thats no joke.
Toyo R888s are a great tire, next step up is Hoosiers, but you have to ask yourself what you want car for? Straight line, go with drag radials and ignore what I said. R888 are my favorite so far, but cost per mile is waaay higher then Invos so factor in use appropriately.

Reason: typo
I ran that exact setup and still have the tires mounted on my spare rims. I first built a 402 stroker motor which put down 550rwhp and the Nittos did really well for a street tire! I since supercharged the car and am putting down 750rwhp and I could spin them all the way through 3rd gear. I am currently running 345/35/18 BFG drag radials and don't have much more traction than I did with the Invo's? I do have less stability and cold and wet weather traction. I have been told Mickey Thompson drag radials are the only thing that will truly hook high hp applications. But they are mostly designed for straight line. You need to look at what you are going to do with the car. You may need to run a drag radial in back for playing in town and have a spare rear set of rims and run street tires when you travel? I have an almost new set of Nitto Invo's in the sizes you mentioned on aftermarket wheels if you decide to go that route. I put the widebody kit on the back of mine so I could run the 345 rears. I would make you a great deal on the tires or tire and rim combo. Tires have less than 1k miles on them.
Is there a road race slick or tire in general that i could mount on a 18in x 13in that will hook decent with 650rwhp from a roll?I'm going to get a set of ccw auto cross wheels and wanted to know if the hoosier would be the way to go?
Hi Deno, I think most of the guys are saying that you should go with Nitto Invos. Do not worry about how much mileage you will get out of them. It is a trade off. The more miles you get out of a set of tires, the less they will hookup.
I hope someone will come in here and recommend a set of tires that will hookup from either a dead stop or from a roll better than the Invos but around the same price.
I know that my PS2 hooks up better than the Invos (because I had a set for about a week before the PS2) but they are twice the price.
Mike, What have you been getting out of your R888's mileage-wise? Mine seem to be holding up well. I expect to get ~8k out of them.
I'd say about 8k seems reasonable and about the pace I'm on, maybe a little bit more. Unfortunately I'm back on Invos (spare rims) for a bit do to hitting road construction and messing up 1-2 rims and radiator cradle .

Hi Charlie,
I got a reply saying that if I don't hook up good with the Toyo Proxes TR1, I will not hook up with the invos.
With the inputs the decision is hard to make...not unless I go to PS2s.
The new ZR1 is using GY tires don't know the designation on them but I'm sure the non-run flats are available. If this tires can hold the ZR1 in a straight line, they should hold my car.

I think the ZR1 is using Michelin Pilot Sport Cups.. A bit pricey for my blood..
