Default Hidden boost gauge

Anyone here found a way to mount a hidden boost/fuel gauge in their car? Like putting a digital gauge in the ashtray or under the dash? I really need a boost/fuel gauge but can't go with the A pillar or top of dash.

Just curious, why would you put a gauge out of the field of vision?

If I could use a digital gauge with memory function I wouldn't need it in direct line of sight. After a run I could check what the max boost was to see it there was a problem. Obviously it would be better to have pods on the A pillar but, as other threads already discussed, the pillar pods are pretty cheap looking.

To be honest, my pillar pod has been in for 4 years and not one person has even noticed it's not factory....other than people that know a blower didn't come in the car. It's not perfect but I wouldn't give up for anything. It has my boost light and meth activated light right in my peripheral vision.

I have digital fuel pressure and boost gauge with memory and I agree with you that you don't need to look at it while you are driving. Just hit the memory button and it will display the hi and low. What do you think about installing it in your center console?

I agree-I have had a pillar pod on 2 of my cars and actually have gotten compliments on them. I had the dealer paint it and it matches perfect. Almost looks factory.

The best place IMHO. I dont care for gauges hanging off my pillar (cheap looking) Needs to be wrapped in leather or something....It almost reminds me of fast and furious...lol

I think it's called "function" before form. Seems pretty foolish to have gauges where you can't use them...but that's just me.

Why not put a 3 bar map sensor in and scan it with Hp tuners to see if boost is dropping off? That way you see no gauges

Then enjoy where you have them...

I'm just letting the OP know his options as to what he was asking.

Everyone's got an opinion. I hate the look of the A-pillar guages. It reminds of a ricer machine driven by some kid from the Fast and Furious. I've heard of installs in the ashtray slot but have not seen one. Anyone try that location yet?
