the only other thing is one of my original APS inlets got crushed a little(its tight in there) and it choked off the turbo.. i could not make more then 9 psi.. so check those inlets and make sure they are not crushed..

FYI.. i think fastbird found a way to put filters on the turbos.. it will WAKE THE CAR up like no other..

Yeah, Im gonna pull the bumper and probably put T-Bolt clamps on all the hoses in the bumper.

Im running screens on the turbos, so no inlets for me.

Glad you found the problem . But aren't you concerned about running screens on turbos that sit that low to the ground and able to suck up any road debry?

Hey Mike,

I am a little concerned, but I've been searching K&Ns website for the perfect filters and haven't came across one yet. I'm actually thinking about taking some good measurements to get custom filters made. I've been driving it almost a year with screens and no issues, thigh I know it's not the safest bet.

One thing that you may want to give some thought to is industrial vacuum conveying hose. The stuff is almost impossible to collapse, I've jumped on it with one foot and barely compressed it. Not sure if it will be flexible enough to snake through areas on your car, but will tell you that the turbos will never suck it shut. Inside of the hose is also very smooth.

Monday, I'll be at a factory that uses allot of it to convey dry solids, I can ask what manufacturer they use, if you want.

UPDATE: ITS FIXED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As I said, there was a massive leak coming out of the passenger side IC coupler. Pulled the bumper, removed all the ****ty hose clamps, cleaned the couplers and piping, sprayed with hairspray so that when it dries it will be sticky as ****, and put all new T-Bolt clamps on.

I just test drove it and reached 21.1 psi as I let off without going all out. I just started turning it down until I reached what I wanted SP6 to be set at. Its a whole new car.....

Big shout out to you guys that have taken the time to help troubleshoot this issue. Its much appreciated.

It really does. I turned it down to about 16-17 psi and its still a monster compared to what it was doing at 9-10

Here is some vacuum hose info http://www.kanaflexcorp.com/hose_pro...tail.php?id=19 , refer to vacuum hose rating. They have lots of products so look around site. Abbott Rubber in IL should sell it to you by foot. I just can't see turbos sucking it shut, the only question is will it be flexible enough to run as required.

Sorry I was in a rush earlier... I should have posted http://www.kanaflexcorp.com/hose/kanaflex_catalog.php the 29.8 in Hg rating is damn near perfect vacuum. There is no way a single stage centrifugal compressor (turbo) can generate anything close to that vacuum. So sucking it shut will not happen.

If you need a hand specing something, feel free to PM me. Not sure why APS didn't go this way - suspect cost, as depending on type and diameter it can get pricey (guessing 3" diameter can run $10-20 per foot).

Thanks for the link, Mike.

A couple concerns....I dont see anything that will hold over 220*F in the high vacuum rating, which Im sure my turbos get hotter than that. And that specific hose doesnt come in 3" LOL

Try calling Abbott Rubber (847) 952-1800, they offer many brands of vacuum hose. As far as temperature rating don't think a 220 F is required on suction side of turbo. Yes inlet to turbo can get hot. BTW hose is measured by ID (inside diameter) .

A maintenance manager suggested Abbott Rubber as one stop shopping and he suggested Kabaflex as his preference do to durability.

I've used kanflex hoses for 30 years in transporting petroleum products. They stand up to all kinds of abuse. They make many different varieties for different uses too. They're very light and super durable.
