Default Temperature and boost question

A week ago It was in the mid 60s and I was just shy of 7psi. Now today with temps in the low 80s on the exact same stretch of road with nothing else done to the car even the same gas in the tank I hit a little over 10psi.

Does this seem right?

No. Boost should go up as ambient temps go down and not by that much.

That is what I thought. The 7psi the other week seemed a bit low and that is why I was watching the gauge today. But I don't ever remember seeing it go over 10psi before either.

I just tested the boost gauge with compressed air and a regulator and it was dead on.

What is your setup. I am sure someone can tell if you are SCed by the pulley size and headunit roughly what psi you should be running.

Standard ECS 1500 kit with headers and restrictor plate. Engine internals are stock.

I thought it was supposed to be about 8-9psi.

You should be 8-9lbs, hitting ten when cold out. However there are variables which can change boost such as the gear it was in. If the rpm is raising slower-higher gear- it will tend to not boost as high as a faster roll threw the rpm band. At least that has been my findings over the years, so you probably do not have an issue, but keep an eye on it. Also take a peek at the tensioner to make sure is fully opened, your belt could be stretched out?

I was in the same gear and location for both runs that I'm comparing which was 2nd gear. The other week I also did a few 4th gear runs and every time it was steady around 7psi.

When I did the run today I was expecting to see around 7psi again then going home to tighten the belt to see if made any difference. I was a bit surprised when the gauge kept climbing without anything being done.

The car runs great. I can't tell any difference other then what the gauge reads.

If you still have a restrictor it probably came out of place/got sucked in to the intake going on to the head unit. Happened to me before, be very careful as you may run lean.

Just pulled the intake apart and everything looked good except the very dirty filter. I really wasn't expecting that since there is only 4k miles on it.
