Default Cleaning the head unit

I'm going to be cleaning my engine bay next weekend and I wanted to know if anyone had advice regarding cleaning up the head unit. I have an unfinished novi sl1500 and it's gotten pretty dirty. Just soapy water?

Yep. I don't even go that far though. I simply shoot a little Meguiars quick detail spray into a microfiber cloth and just wipe it down.

You can also use a mild metal polish and it will GLEAM. Of course, that's a little more involved than simply knocking the dust off.

I use a power washer on low power to get in the grooves behind the pulley, works awesome, then a quick shine!!

I wouldnt be so confident in that unless ur 4 feet away and even then it can get into the electrical connections and even oil seals if its over done. Be careful! I just use some good ole mothers and it gleams!

Brake cleaner on a rag to knock off the thick stuff is there is any, or Spray nine etc since you have the non polished head unit.

If the unit is polished Bling Master is the best and easiest stuff to use period. Mothers can't touch it.

Blingmaster does sound a little goofy but it is amazing stuff. It's consistency of water and the ease of use with result is simple and superior compared to any alumnium polish. A friend has a 70 Camaro and tried everything possible to polish some tarnished alumnium under the hood with no luck. In 10 mins he was shocked with what I did with Blingmaster. I get it at St Petes Auto Aids. Here's the link. http://www.detailsupplyonline.com/ Scroll down the front page bottom left.
