Default Nitrous Help..Resolved

Hey guys..Need some advice here. The other day while taking a quick spin I noticed my RPMs were starting to get slow when dropping back to idol while stopped at traffic lights. The RPMs would slowly work back down, but it was alittle long before they backed down, seemed to be hanging up around 2000-2300 then may settle down to 1000-1200 after a few minutes at the light, sometimes it would not settle at all until the light changed I and I accelerated. I did not notice anything while at cruising speed in town The car had lots of mods done on it before I got it so I'm learning as I own it.

I got it home and got looking around. I'm noticing that two of the NOS spray nozzles were loose where they are installed into the manifold..one much more than the other (easily pull/wiggle it out of the manifold by hand and no effort, also hear air whistle around the nozzle w/ motor running) . With the engine running I am able to determine that air is being sucked in/out at the nozzle/manifold area, more so at the one mentioned. Assuming this is the problem? What would be the best option to seal these to eliminate the air by-pass. I'm assuming the extra airflow is what was keeping the RPMs from dropping back to normal at stop. Any thoughts.

I've checked all the other nozzles and they seem to be tight. The car is a 06 Z with w/ 16K miles. Would a good sealant around the nozzle bases be a cure and if so any particular sealant suggested? The NOS was on the car when I bought it and the prior owner claims she only sprayed once or twice over the last few years. The car is 700 HP without the spray. I have yet to spray it and now I'm leary if I ever decide to spray..just want to make sure all is sealed well. I'm hoping this is the only issue. Thanks for any input.

Did some trial and error. Found some good sealant. Put some around the nozzles sealed the area..Problem solved. Running great..Lesson learned every day.

I run a fogger on my drag car and use a liquid teflon type sealant on the nozzle threads. Once installed I wipe the excess off for a clean looking install.

We plumb alot of these factory and after market style Plastic intakes. Using a factory style intake it is not real thick and as a result you do not have much area for over running the tap. Most of the time I use Teflon paste. But if your nozzle is that loose you may need to thread it back in with loc tite. The reason I say that is because I can't see it twisting and backing out to get loose. You need to see if the threads are striping. If they are go with loc tite.

The car is idleing like that because the loose nozzle may be causing a vacumme leak letting in un measured air. This would also cause a lean condition so you need to fix it before driving it.

If you need any advice let me know.
