Default Ecs does it again.....

Just got home with the GS, and man, what a difference! 530/518 thru the A6 in the heat with JUST A BLOWER! The Novi is so quite at idle, that I had to open the hood to show it to the local pump jockey, because he didn't believe the car was blown I am VERY happy with choosing to have them do the install, instead of doing it myself. I didn't want a generic mail order tune, and didn't want to be bothered with pinning the crank. Their reputation made that choice a no brainer. Dropped it off on Monday and it was ready on Thursday. They even washed the car while we were there to pick it up EXCELLENT customer service, fair pricing and meticulous work. With an operation like that, I just may get lazier and have them do all the wrenching on the car from now on

Thanx guys! The real test will be on Sat Then maybe we can talk about headers and meth

The oldman wants to do the show & go, but I'd rather put it in the 12.50 index. We might split driving duties and run both classes.

Ooooohhh. Nice, but without a bar, you cannot go under 13.5 with a vert. You can do that letting off at the 60'.

Of course you can just go take a pass and we'll video tape it for you, since you wont get a slip.. but I didnt say that.

Gonna try to pickup a set of GS 18in fronts that I can have widened to 18x12 for a set of DRs. Maybe I'll find 'em at Carlisle.

LOL. I thought they rolled the rule back to 12.50 for a vert and 11.50 for a coupe. This SUCKS The car was faster than that from the factory. I figured I'd only need a fire jacket (if they even bothered to check under the hood at tech).

If my buddies wife is working, I may be able to get the slip anyway. Guess we're gonna be one and done Sat. Maybe I'll go to Island on Sun

The way Island's Tech is, they may not even let you put it on the track.

It's tough to go back to busting knuckles after you find a shop you like.

Not sure, thjere's no boost gauge in the car, and I didn't ask. My gut says it's probably 8lbs. I can't see this baby kit making much more than that.

Tell me about it. I'm an ASE certified Master Tech, and have worked for a rather reputable Mustang FI shop, and I'd still rather have them do the work. They're that good, and I'm that lazy, so it all works out pretty well in the end

Then I gotta buy a set of GS rears. I don't want to drive everywhere on DRs, so the extra set of wheels is a must. I figure if I'm buying wheels, I may as well get the size that offers the best selection of tires, and the 18in MT is MUCH better than the 19in Nitto.

Hey Fordracer1 -- I have the ECS SL - 1500 kit and ONLY the ECS kit, no other mods, and if you have the same, I wouldn't call it a babykit. I have a A6 LS2 with 514/474 with a conservative 11 degrees of timing.. that is about a 200 rwhp increase.. there's nothing baby about that.. ECS does not play, they make power!! If you are only at 8psi, you should pull the restrictor plate to get to 10psi (still safe I believe) just have the tune pull out timing when AIT's rise!!!

My last six passes at the track were all in the 11.30's on stock run-flats! Not drag radials.. bone stock runflats.

Like I said... ECS does not play. Give Chris a call and he can tell you the boost numbers.

To remove the restrictor plate altogether, we would need methanol injection for the octane requirements. That would put the car in the 650ish RWHP range +-, which is to much for pump gas IMO.

This car is in the 8-9lb area if I recall. There's plenty on tap to go if you ever wanted to raise the power with the 1500 head unit.

So the results are in......

Keep in mind that all 4 runs were with a heat soaked motor from an hour+ drive down, then basically run round robbin. With no rollbar and an expired snell helmet, they wanted me to stay 14.00 or slower. First 2 passes were leaving hard and braking up top, and last 2 were breaking the beams, counting to 4 and then running out the back. Taking todays weather and the heat soaked motor into account, I'm VERY happy with this car.

60'.....1.952....1.876....3.397....2.475
330....5.113....5.298....7.263....7.041
1/8....8.020....8.117....9.929....9.892
MPH...75.30... 86.61....87.78....87.67
1000..11.351...10.499..12.165..12.230
1/4....14.497...12.453..14.034..14.163
MPH...73.77....115.79..120.33..116.68

Can't wait for a late season track rental at Atco or Island.

A heat soaked motor/blower/intercooler on a 2500 ft+ day aint bad. Especially since on the 120 pass, I really didn't get into it untill after the 60' clocks. You really can't go by the final numbers. The splits tell the whole story.

If you don't like it big deal. I LOVE it. That's all that matters to me.
