Default Roll Cage Options

Looking ahead, way ahead.... Its not something I'm looking forward to doing. Just wondering whats out there. Title says cage but I just want a 4 point roll bar. Looks like API is pretty much the standard.

Some of this you might already know, but if you're looking for something that's NHRA legal it has to be a 5-point and it has to be welded to the frame.

Here's what mine looks like:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...installed.html

The builder talked about possibly building them as an off the shelf setup which he could ship and then you could just have somebody local weld it in. Let me know if you're interested and I can get you his number.

No I didn't in fact. Thanks for the info and thread.

If that is the case then the Wolfe Racecraft looks like the way to go. 6 point (says bolt in but could weld it as well) with removable door bars for $845.

I remember seeing that thread a while back now. Look at this from quote from you in that thread on 10/2008....

I just got an 11.014 on Saturday
Now you're in the nines...You da man!

Ahh, the gold ol' days - only running low 11's and not breaking transmissions every other month like I am now.

I have the 5point Wolfe and it is not legal [not weldable, back bars bolted to the hoop, etc.]. Also had to shorted legs on the hoop 5/8". If you want more info, pm me.

I am installing a Phadt 6 point with swing out side bars. It will be installing in the next couple of months. Have to get ready for the Texas mile--above 190 mph.

Thanks Jeremy. That looks damn nice! Was it finished like that fom PFADT or did Taylor do that? I donno though...I haven't seen any pics of the Wolfe C6 kit but it's a 6 point for about the same price.

How did Taylor get that cage to disappear through the carpet with no trace of a hole?!? Thats some David Blaine ****!

I have the Lingenfelter 6-point in my car with removable sidebars and with them out you really don't notice the cage. Except when I see the top bar in my rear-view. It's welded in place.

I think I waited 10 weeks before I told Wolfe no thanks.. But, with the new stuff going in, I may just have to place another order with them and just wait. Wolfe does a great job, not to mention they are in the city next to me.

They must be standing around at Wolf? They said they would start bending today and maybe ship it out. Thats also why I went with it instead of building it.
