Default E-Force for LS7....Where is it??

It's September 30th and the E-Force has not been released according to the Edelbrock website. Any updates? Inquiring minds want to know.

We have some on order but don't expect them until the end of October or beginning of November.

I don't like the idea of putting the same size supercharger on a motor that has 1 liter more.

Could be. Some shops have been doing R&D on the kits for Edelbrock.

Why? The ls7s higher compression cant take as much boost anyway

Talked with someone in tech support on Monday, he told me not to look for them until November. They don't have any specs on it yet, as I guess no body has one at this point.

I do believe they are going to use the same size unit but with different pullies. Granted the kits will be different in that the Ls7 will need different pluming and maybe different cooling tank location since the ls7 has the dry sump, but I did just see a unit on a 6 speed Standard grand sport with the dry sump. But one thing for sure the Ls3 can take 12 lbs of boost and the ls7 can take like 5lbs.

We are making 775/770 with a 2.3L on a 427 engine right now. Of course its a forged motor but just trying to indicate the blower will get the job done.

I have another 427 with a 3.6L that makes 825/820 but the 2.3L has way more low end throttle response then the larger blower. For street power and still have capability to make more the 2.3L will work great. Its got a great track record for reliablity. Edelbrock has proven that there unit works well and we have been thrilled with the quality and fitment!

The kit will be available after SEMA.

When i picked my ls2 test/prototype 2005 c6 4-speed auto corvette, I saw the ls7 eforce on a c6z06 prototype corvette.
It looks identical to the ls2 & ls3 superchargers.

Howard,

Are talking solely about low end throttle response or is the torque down low also not as strong as the 2.3L?

My biggest grip with a blower is getting it all to hook with that much low to midrange torque trying to shred the tires. Any comments on the traction of the kit and more importantly, does it hook from a 40mph or a 60mph?

Why not we already do. You ever seen the blowers they put on the 03-04 Cobra's or the new GT500's?

I assume you are referring to the larger displacment blower?? If so the larger blowers ie.. 3.6L requires much higher rpms to move airflow. Airflow equates to torque. The 3.6L doesn't hit as hard and turns on much smoother. It also doesn't drop off as much at higher rpms.

The 2.3L are small enough that when you crack the throttle there is no spool up per say so it hits much harder yet that will still support an easy 800 crank.

As a matter of fact we just had a cool feature in a new Camaro magazine called Camaro Now which has my 2010 with a 2.3 which is a beast to drive.

Here is the article;

And what is your best guess re longevity of the stock LS7 at these boost levels? I keep wondering why GM chose the LS3 to boost rather than the LS7. I have heard from diffferent sources that the LS3 is a much stronger engine.

Don't get me wrong, I supercharged my '02 Z (Maggie running 8 lbs + meth injection & blower cam) and do love my '08 Z. Just wondering what the LS7 can really safely handle.
