Default New build! E-Force on its way!!!!!!

Well today I did it. I called ECS and ordered an E-Force 1591 Chris was great to work with and the price was great. I also added ARH 1 7/8, Meth and at the last minute today I called LG and ordered the G6XB Cam. I was going to hold off on the cam but I changed my mind. I am hoping to have it tuned by Jeremy @ Fasterproms at the end of the month..

Any and all advice is welcomed

Keep us posted! I have the 1593 kit on my 06 which ECS installed. I'll be very interested in exactly how you're planning on doing the meth? Tried to get Edlebrocks position on using meth but didn't get much of an answer. They said they haven't tested it with their system therefore proceed at my own risk! In other words you're on your own!

Please keep us informed and love to see exactly how you install the meth system with the E-Force system.... Good luck......

Congrats on the purchase!
My E-Force still in the garage but I hope to get time to install in a couple weeks.

I already pinned the crank and installed an LS9 cam. That was the hard part. Getting the steering rack out is an ordeal. Some have an easier method involving lowering the cradle. If I was doing it again I would definitely look into that. I think the rest will be fun.

I have those same headers. They fit very well and were easy to install. You may have to flatten a body seam on the passenger side, but no big deal.

Good luck with the wrenching!

I may go with a smaller pulley. The kit has the upgrades fuel pump. Do I need to use a different one?

I'm not sure how much power the kit will support. What fuel pump does it come with?
I was asking because I am unsure if the fuel pump with the kit will give very much more power than the kit was originally designed for. I guess we'll find out. lol

How much power are you hoping for? You should go with a smaller pulley, with a good tuner you shouldn't have any issue.

It is the 1591 kit so it has the larger pump not sure what it is. I am hoping it is around 600 give or take. What size is the smaller pulley?

I believe the stock pulley is 3.875. (youll need to know where your at before you go smaller) I think 600 will be pretty easy with a smaller pulley but you should start with the pulley that comes with the kit. You probably wont need meth with the standard pulley.

The 1591 kit comes with a Z06 fuel pump.

What size is the smaller pulley?
The 1591 kit comes with the 3.5" small pulley. The 3.875" pulley is part of the 1590 lower HP kit
http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...e/street.shtml

As a point of reference, my 2007 bone stock LS-2 6 speed car (so we're starting with 405 at the crank), produced 501 rwhp with the 1593 kit, 3.5" pulley, and no fuel pump upgrade at all. That's conservatively 550-560 at the crank on a car without headers or anything else but the e-force.

Congrats! 600 should be pretty easy. My LS2 with similar mod's. and no meth is producing 565 through an A6.

Do I need to replace the injectors? Are the ones that come with the kit good enough? Not sure if the cam changes this.

Well the higher the power level the more fuel needed. Hopefully the injectors that come with the kit will be sufficient.

For what it's worth - the injectors are the same ones used on the ZR1, a 638 crank HP car.

As mentioned above the injectors are the same Bosch 52lb injectors as used in the ZR1. Your tuner will know whether you have enough injector or not. He will be watching AFR, injector duty cycle and hopefully monitoring fuel pressure at the rail.

I am not liking the wait myself. I was going to have Fasterproms do the install and tune. Then I thought I would do the install myself with a friend that runs a shop. When I told my wife and kids I was going to cut our vacation short so I could come home to do the install it did not go well. I knew Fasterproms could not get it in on such a late notice so I am having my friend do the install ;(. But Jeremy at Fasterproms has been great and will be doing the tune. I can't wait!!! I have never wanted a vacation to end so fast and it is just starting

The shop must be really busy or something. ECS got started around 9pm Monday and I was rolling back home completely tuned late the next day. I didn't however do a cam but did have the rad changed out. I'd say 3 days tops for doing the work you're having done... Good luck in any event. I'm really interested in how they are going to do the meth... Not sure anyone has run the E-Force with meth yet??

When I found out late Friday I never called the shop to see if they could do it. I felt pretty stupid asking on such a late notice.

I have been thinking about the meth myself. Chris at ecs said it would be no problem and that it would be good for the car. Lucky for me that alky control is in Tampa so if I have a problem I am sure they can figure it out. I can tell you only alky will be ran through it, no wasker fluid

Hummm interesting on the meth. I checked with Edlebrock and they would only say it's not approved for use with their unit. Didn't say it would cause a problem with the rotor coatings but there have been questions raised about it from other people. Some say it won't hurt the eaton unit but then again it's not their 6 or 7 grand either....

So far I haven't had issues with IAT's on mine but I also don't live in a hot climate. My ITA's seldom run over 110 degs which doesn't retard timing. I don't believe meth is necessary for cooling unless that becomes a problem next summer. Not interested in more power right now as I don't have traction anyway! I haven't heard of anyone running meth with the E-Force right now so I'll be very interested to see what happens with your set up.

I will tell you if you are running stock rubber.... forget it! Traction is severalty limited in the first 3 gears. Lots of fun roasting tires but it's expensive and you're also going no where fast! I'm putting some 325 Nito's on mine next week hoping it help with the traction problem. I have no interest in running any type of DR's because I'm not tracking it...

Please keep us posted as your install moves along!! Get some pics of the meth install if you can.... like to see what they do!!
