I currently have an 2007 auto with a Maggie/AR headers/160 stat and cam. My question is meth installation. I have been told a number of things both postive and negativw regarding Meth. Corrodes the unit with use, not worth the $$ to do it affects resale which is not a big thing with me at present and does not effect heat/cooling that much (I LIVE IN Tucson AZ at present) and does not not really increase power output that much. I am very close to pulling the trigger on the install and thought I would make one last attempt to get some advice from those that have done it in regards to thier real life experiences with it. thanks for any and all input.
Seems to be some great power gains right here in this sections. Never heard much negative about it as long as your tuner knows how to tune for meth. I would have it by now it someone close to me would tune for it.
I run the Snow Meth system on my TT 07 Z06 and it really does make a positive difference on power (higher Octane) and lower entering air temp. I run a 50/50 solution of Meth and RO water. Usually the biggest negative is running the system dry or the pump failing. Once you have tuned the car for Meth you want to ensure you are ALWAYS delivering it when required. You can add a pressure sensor and status light to ensure proper operation as well...
Meth is absolutely worth it, but the issue you are going to deal with is because of your PD Blower. It will corrode standard rotors. With a centri you can add it post blower.

For his particular type you are correct but there are PD blowers that run meth with no issues. Not all PD blowers are made with teflon coatings on the rotors.

Very true, we have been tossing it through KB units for years. Granted we no longer go through the rotors. I came up with a very slick direct port setup that sprays right into the runners last year. Works well! But spraying through the rotors works as well.
Lots of Maggies have been injesting lots of meth for years. I've seen exactly one report of problems. Those pics looked like the thing had been sucking sand, not meth. I had an MP122 that had w/w fluild injection from day one. 45K miles later, the rotors had a blue tint, but otherwise looked perfect. I've heard w/w fluid is harder on the rotors than straight meth. You have to wonder why Eaton would add a coating to the TVS impellars that is less durable than the coatings on the earlier blowers. Just had a meth kit put on one of my TVS Maggies. We'll see....

I knew there were some coatings that worked and others that didn't, but didn't know which ones. I just remember seeing a couple PDs that looked pretty rough and pitted after running meth for awhile.
whos kit would you buy the? I have a tvs blower wonderd the same stuff is it only going to help with octane and not lower inlets since its going threw the blower

If you have an older style 112 or 122 blower, there have been guys spraying meth on those for years without issue. I had a 122 on the head/cam LS1 that was in my '67 Camaro. On my first dyno session (no meth) my IATs were really high. I added meth and had it re-tuned a year later and picked up 40 rwhp and 45 rwtq. That was running a very rich A/F in the high 10's with the meth spraying. So I don't think I'd call it a 'meth dependent' tune.
