Default Supercharged ZO6 problems

Have a stock LS7 with an ECS Paxton kit. Stock motor with the supplied pulley (6~7psi) and the car has a miss. When we tried to dyno the car, it dropped the timing down to like one degree and the fuel fell off as well at about 4500 rpm. I installed the supplied NGK 6's plugs at .035 like recommended and installed some heavy duty plug wire. It started it from day one so ECS sent me a new MAP sensor and are about to do a speed density tune but couldn't get any higher rpms.

Does it miss fire at idle? 1 or more Cyl? have you looked at injector duty cycle to see if it's drowing a cyl? Leak down test?

What did you do for fuel? injectors? Bap? Stock? What did the plugs you pulled out look like? Black? Tan? Any damage to them?

I do hear a slight miss fire at idle but not throwing any codes. We watched it on a snap-on version of the tech2 and saw 1,2,7 having a miss at times I believe were the cylinders. ECS kit comes with KB BAP, 60# injectors and the plugs looked good when we pulled them out. Have not looked at the duty cycle yet but I don't think thats the problem because the plugs lood great with about 250-300 miles on them. The car will run good and then jerks upon accelerating. When I say it misses at idle, I mean the car doesn't show it a lot, but I can tell because it sounds like a cam lope.

That's what we're doing. Doing a drive also to see what is going on when the cylinder has a miss. Does great at cruising with no pull on the motor, but as soon as it gets a pull on the motor or I try to accelerate any, the car will jump a little.

I had an LS7 a while back that once we installed the charger it lost a coil pack. Drove fine prior to the install, just couldnt handle the additional load I guess. Just an example.
With a straight miss like this, you really have to just go back to the basics, it's no different with or without a charger.
If I can help let me know.

Thanks Doug, I've had a long and troublesome road with this kit and this is just no fun anymore. I have been waiting on my tune from Matt for the new MAP sensor since back in March and I have given up hope on getting that since I have emailed two reminders since then.

Even though they did it from day 1 and only have about 200~300 miles on them?

My car only had about 1000 miles on the plugs when they went bad. Wierd thing is that they all looked good when we pulled them.

Swap coils/wires with known good cylinders and suspected miss cylinders (1,2,7) then see if the problem follows the coils or stays with the cylinders. If it follows the coils, then swap the wires and recheck and you should have your answer

Thanks guys! Does anyone know if my extra set of stock coils off the LS2 GTO are the same as my vette?

I don't think so...but I would suggest just doing the swap I spoke of first, since you don't want to add to the confussion by inserting an additional variable to the troubleshooting using the GTO coils

Find a friend and play swaptronix with his known good coil packs to see if problem goes away.

I'd bet they'd be the same. (((Edit...forgot we were dealing with an LS7))). Might even be a part # on them. Agree with the others on the spark plugs. I've seen it more than once where a near brand new plug was bad (one was a TR6 too). Also, inspect the wires closely. A weak one can sometimes run fine on a mild load, but bang out when under boost.

Ok. I have tomorrow to trouble shoot but fixing the miss is good but what about the complete drop of timing to 1 degree of timing and the fuel, could this be related?

I was dynoing my Z today as well and we had 3 cylinders miss fire as well..D1 procharger 6 to 7 lb of boost, stock motor as well ..Changed out the 3 plugs and will see tomorrow when we do the 2 final pulls..I hope this is not the start of some thing to?? Is it that the coils cant take the boost or what is it. Same plugs by the way TR6's...
