I recently supercharged my car and rolled off the dyno last Tuesday. The car is bone stock other than the ECS system with the Paxton charger and a Speed Density tune that was sent by ECS and tweeked by G.R.E.A.D tuning out of suthern Indiana. I was very happy with the results even with the 110,000 miles on the car. I set out for my 3.5 to 4 hour trip to Pidgeon Forge TN for the Rod Run car show last Friday and as I was leaving I filled up with gas and reset my fuel milage on the display. I was so happy when I arrived in TN with the 34 mpg. (and fyi, I am 22 years old and yes I wanted to hear the bov several times with a few 6k rpm pulls) I was happy and yet skeptical so I reset it on my way back, taking it easy at first, I went almost 100 miles and was show 37.5 mpg until I ran into a Maserati on the interstate. I was still able to arrive back home with the 34.x mpg on the dash! I didn't get the pen and paper out to verify it this time but on numerous times before the car has been spot on, within 1 or 2 mpg!
Ok Thanks! I meant to put this in the form of a question but I see I didn't lol. I will do that and see what the true numbers are because I thought this was crazy high numbers.
You can't rely on the DIC after supercharging. Use the tried and true pen & paper. I had a difference of 5 mpg between actual calculations and the DIC.
On a recent 110 mile highway ride to Atlantic City in a Cartek Pro Charged/blower cammed C6 Z06 (not my car) I saw over 30mpg at 70+mph on the DIC but I too assume that it might not have been entirely accurate.
Before S/C - 32MPG and spot on (I have pictures of it too.)
After S/C - the DIC reads 3MPG higher than pencil and paper shows it to be (well, actually "calc.exe").
