Engine Builder??? Can i get some good names please
I have a local shot that I really like working with.. But the engine builder that they work with have taken over a month with my order and nothing.. I need to find another builder or I am going to have to pull the plug on the hole deal.
Who can i go to?

Unfortunately none of the "big" engine builders ever get motors done in a timely fashion.. Hell, most of the time they wont answer the phone or give you the time of day unless you spend 25K with them!! A friend asked several of the big name builders for a 20K+ motor and only one actually gave him a quote...so he bought from them!

Not a thing
My stock motor is just fine.. Only 5K miles on it.. I just wanted to do a foged 418 stroker so that I can turn the boost up on a YSI.

Buy the parts. Take the block, crank, rods, pistons, and bearings to a machine shop, have them prep the block for assembly and set the bearing clearances as well as take care of the balancing. Do the rest of the assembly yourself. Putting an engine together is as simple as being able to use a torque wrench and plastigage. Regardless of what people want to try and make you believe, there is NO black magic to engine assembly.

ECS, Cartek, LPE, Hennessey, HKE, Katech, VetteDoctors. They are all very good and have very happy customers from everything I have seen on here. Good luck with your build.

Keep this in mind... You can't rush quality...
That being said I have 2 names for you. (I know a little about the subject)
Aluminum block ERL hands down. You can't get a better built block and they can make them hold up to 2500ish rwhp.
Iron block Livernois Motorsports. I have been running that Iron block for the last 2 years and it has held up to ~1700rwhp pass after pass. When we tore it down this winter for a refresh it didn't need a thing!
If you call either of those companies... tell them Mark (atomicfusion) sent you

yes, LSX iron block with 9:1 CR. I have one in my car and have been beating the hell out of it.. Could not be happier with it.. and you can pick it up pretty much any Chevy\Caddy\GMC dealership.. in a 2-3 days.. vendors do not sell them because they rather build one for you and make a killing in the process..
