First off I didn't do the tune, But I did do the install on the D1 Procharger on my 2007 Z06, after I got it home for my tuner and started to driver it around town I started to notice some surging, like if your in first or 2 or 3 or 4 and you have a very steady foot on the gas the car will surge ever so lightly up and down in speed as if I have a vacuum leek or my blow off gate is bad ...I check for vacuum leeks already there are "None" but I didn't check the blow off gate yet..Some guys said that I may need the Race blow off gate from Progharger that may get rid off the surging, but before I go off and do that Do you guys think its some thing in the Tune..Sure could use some help on this
I had the same issue in 4th, 5th and 6th gear while cruising...it would surge back and forth while under stead gas pedal pressure...in lower gears it wasn't as noticable...I thought it was mechanical but in was all in the tune. I had it retuned for other reasons and it completely went away..........the surging was after my procharger install on my 2011 GS..bad tune surging...retuned..gone
Im in chicago and would pay to have you come to Chicago to tune the car so what do ya say?...Hey also can you tell me what injectors you like if not Fast, maybe thats the problem, maybe one of them is not impeding correctly
Ok got a new blow off gate and it is still surging when driving it around town? what gives on this TUNE guys can any tuners tell me what they think it may be in the tune that doing that??

Yes, this may be were the problem is, your not the only one that has told me that its in the minimal Injector impedance..A & A Corvette said the same thing they think its in the tune also, he said to tell your tuner to go up to 1.25 on the injector impedance, "I dont know what do you guys think?" but because I don't have HP tuners program I don't know were the impedance table sits now, so I not sure what to say to this tuner in Naperville, IL, I thought he was the best in town but I guess not, he did 10 dyno pulls and still didn't get it right ...I don't know at this point I would Pay some one to fly out and tune it at one of my local shops ....But if you guys have any other thought on this rolling surge and what to tell this tuner, it would be help full......Thanks guys

I could come to Chicago at some point, but I am in Bangkok, Thailand right now.
I prefer Injector Dynamics, but I know not everyone has the coin to drop on those, so Siemens Deka 60s are usually my weapon of choice if ZR1 injectors aren't enough.

Unless you've been there, you won't understand how traffic rules work there. When I first went there, there were no expressways...just city streets. So everybody just drove within a few feet of each other. As I recall, the method to get into traffic, you just have to stab the gas and people would let you merge. Scary as hell.
I used to live in Hong Kong and had to learn how to drive there but Bangkok is much worse.

Yep. Traffic in China is crazy as well. You just drive like you're in a tank and everyone else will get out of your way. I was over there, in 3 lanes of road, six wide, trying to get on a 2 lane ramp, and the cars were smacking mirrors and such LOL. It was crazy.
To the OP, if your injector data is not correct, the fuel trims will actually cause surging. It's easy to test for this. Using your scanner VCM controls, just turn the trims off. Most likely, your surge will go away. You can also see it on your scanner. As the trims switch from + to - it will surge back and forth. Get the proper injector data entered, and dial in the trims, and your surge will disappear.
But, as I said in your other thread, it's awful hard to diagnose a problem with no tune to look at, no data log, etc. Without them, it's a stab in the dark.

I'll get surging from fuel trims even with proper injector data, but that's only with REALLY huge cams. My buddy's 441 has a 25X/26X cam and ID850 injectors. I know the injector data is correct, but it'd get surging in closed loop. As soon as we set it to open loop, it smoothed out completely. I don't think the OP has a 29* overlap cam though.

No you are right, stock cam and stock LS7 motor with 4010 mile on so it still a fresh motor.

This is just what the Dr ordered, this is what I'm interested in hearing, this is also just what I was thinking is what wrong in the tune.. so if any one else has any thing to add to this idea above, that would be great..thanks guys for your help
P.S. I'm going to order the HP tuning program. I guess what I'm trying to do is get my tune right first by a "pro tuner" and then experiment with fine tuning the motor as new mods are added to the Z..
But I did talk to these guys when I was looking for a tuner and they seemed to be to busy to give you the time of the day, by the way Speed Ink the first call is the most important!!!
