Default Considering going TT …. Need advice

I have someone buying my top end….heads, cam, and fast 92 intake. So I will be left with a LS2 bottom end, with under 10,000 mile on it. I’m debating going with a stroker motor N/A, or a twin turbo build.

If I decide to go TT, where should I start? Should I buy a different block and buy forged internals for the new block? Should I buy forged internals for my LS2 block? What turbo kit should I get? Should I buy one of the used engines which occasionally show up on the parts board, that is already set up for forced induction? And then buy a TT kit to slap on the already built engine?

My intended use for this will be 95% street, 5% ¼ track. I have a 2006 A6. I'm not looking for 900rwhp, but If I go TT I'd like to have the same or better performance than a 530+rwTQ NA build. I believe a TT build would be more expensive than a NA build (I think), and I believe a NA build would be safer on the internals (but I'm not positive). If all that is true, then maybe a TT build is not for me, I don't know.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

The upp kit looks pretty nice, just run off the waste gate or a smaller spring to run the power level you would like. When you want more for the track run a boost controler aqnd turn it up.

A TT vettte would be alot of fun...but is gonna be pricier to build than the N/A or S/C build. I agree you need forged internals at the power level you want. You just have to figure out what's gonna work best for you...build your engine, buy an engine....or buy a built vette?

Yeah....yours looks nice, but way out of my range even at the starting price. Plus I'd have to sell mine 1st, and pay sales tax on yours unless a dealership would accept mine as a trade in. Thanks though GLWS

A proper TT vette is expensive to build but it's a lot more fun IMHO than a NA car. Considering how much money is in mine, I would buy an already built car than to build one again from scratch MGJ07C6 has an amazing car for a great price!

Exactly. You don't go with a power adder to make things 'safer', you go with a power adder to go faster.

you can TT a stock motor and have no issues (as long as you don't turn it up) You can also build a motor and then crank the boost.

530rwhp+Tq will be simple to achieve on a stock LS2 with any TT or SC you choose. I know that IPSMotorsports (the company that built mine) uses quality Turbos and parts and IIRC they may have my old twin kit sitting used on a shelf somewhere that would be less expensive than some other options.

I had them put a TT kit on my wife's 2010 STOCK Camaro (no other upgrades other than the TT Kit) and it made 550 rwhp and 600 rwtq on 7psi! This is a COMPLETELY stock L99 auto car!

Nothing will be more fun that cruising down the road, building a bit of boost and blowing it off beside some unsuspecting Mustang owner.

Good luck with your build and if you end up TT you will love it!

No need to forge unless you plan on upping the boost beyond 7lbs....which you will want to once your used to the power. Go with a good boost controller and clutch. You will have reliable fun. I've had both a TT setup and a fully forged Ysi supercharged setup installed and tuned by very good tuners and I had 0 problems with the turbo setup and drove it more in a month than I ever drove the SC setup in a year.
