I have been talking to an installer in my area and his recommendation is to go with the standard procharger tune for reliability vs a custom tune. So basically if i move forward with this installer he will simply load the base LS2 procharger tune and call it a day.
My question is the following, other than perhaps leaving some hp on the table are there other risks/negatives with this approach? Better yet has anyone else taken this route and if so what was the outcome?
Canned tunes are built to be shipped anywhere and run "acceptably", you'll be leaving performance on the table by not getting a professional tune post installation.
You don't buy a suit off the rack and just wear it, you have it fitted to you. Your cars modifications are no different.
