I've been having a lot of troubles flashing my car with the tune from Edelbrock. It keeps erroring with the following message.
Upload Stock Failed Error 1017
The car has never been tuned and ran perfect until now. I can't start the car because we don't have the computers updated. I've contacted Edelbrock and they had me call SCT. The support guy at SCT says they are having an engineer look into it. This has had me dead in the water since Sunday. I need to get this car running and get back to work.
It's failing during the steps to backup the stock software. So far I've tried flashing while attached to a battery charger. I've tried pulling the radio fuse and the onstar fuse. Nothing seems to help so far.
Honestly and I swear this is true from the depths of my soul, when I read your post, I said, the poor bastard must have an 07! No really! My 07 ECM became a paperweight for the better part of a week with that SAME issue. IT is the SCT handheld causing the issue and the tune. Contact them and Edelbrock and they can get you fixed up.
Thanks for the info. Did yours fail in the upload stock phase as well? Do you have any info that I could tell Edelbrock and SCT to shed some light on the issue?
I called Edelbrock today, waited on hold, then got put to someone's voicemail. SCT hasn't updated me yet with any findings. I emailed them the tune I was trying to do.

It failed in the upload and really hosed up the communication with the ECM. Once we managed to reestablish communication, we could do anything we wanted with the ECM. They managed to get a good e-force tune (up to a point) in the car and we got it running rather well. I still have this issue: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-f...ight=dieseling
Step #1. Have you downloaded and installed the most current software from the Edelbrock tech site?
That is the latest file for the Bosch TMAP, however the file he needs is dependent on what serial number his system has. There is a spot on the Edelbrock website where you enter your serial number in and it will provide the correct file for the system you have. Only difference between the 2 is the TMAP was changed from the Ford to a Bosch unit and has a different transfer function.
Yep I've gone through that. I entered the serial number for my unit downloaded the file, and installed it in the programmer per the instructions.
I just got off the phone with SCT and they don't know what the issue is.

If you have the ability....take the car to a GM dealer and ask them to flash in the most current OS for your ECM. Sometimes canned tuners have compatibility issues with older OEM programs.
Sorry about the delay. It took a while but we got it working. Edelbrock had me try all kinds of things. We flashed to the latest OS. We tried pulling all kinds of fuses. They finally overnighted me a new programmer and that worked. I've got the car running.
We almost got down to hammer smacking the ECM during the loading. Probably wouldn't help much but I would have felt better later.
I'm glad you're up and running. Remember what I said about the proportional tune. Your DIC will have some bad information on mileage and miles remaining in tank unless you get a non-proportional tune into the ECM.
Haha that is some good information to know. I wondered why it said I was making 30 mpg on the way back from installing it. I'm getting ready to have the car tuned because it's running a little lean.
