My son's turbocharged GMC and my supercharged vette are at about 8.5psi and .035. My supercharged GMC is at 12psi and the plugs are gapped at .030. I'm not aware of any "rule" to go by. This is just what has worked for me.
Can any of you gents let me know what you have your plugs gapped at on your supercharger vette.
A&A Supercharger's recommends .035 for the tr-6. That requires
closing the NGK factory setting of .039 which is according to NGK is the optimum setting for that
plug. Which is a V-power that has a groove or V cut to increase the size of the spark kernel. Which works best at .039 since the electrodes are parallel at that gap. I run the NGK tr-6 right out of the box.
Just checking to make sure it's still at .039. In order to run the NGK
tr-6 supercharged at .039 You need a better plug wire. Which is just an extenstion of the coil to the plug. I run MSD wires allowing more current allowing more spark at the plug. Allowing you to run the wider gap.
Which is the only way to get a hp gain out of a plug wire.
