On an '06 LS7 that I am going to have forged pistons installed, dial down compression, stock rods and stock crank? Compare that number to a completely forged motor, stock block & liner but with forged pistons, 9.5 to 1 compression (or thereabouts), forged rods and forged crank????? I already have ported, polished & milled LS7 heads, a NW TB, ARH LT headers, dual valve springs, etc..... and will have a blower cam installed. What's the consensus????
I don't understand your question - nor do I understand your logic? Why on earth wouldn't you go ahead and spend another $1300 and upgrade your OEM rods??????????? The motor is already apart if you are forging the pistons!?!?!?! Please please please do yourself this favor and put forged rods in as well!!! Then you can run 21 PSI all day and not think twice!
(your crankshaft is already forged and been proven to 2500 HP)

x2
ill do the same to my ls2 after i try to make my stock rods into preztel.
Ed, you usually have great advise. But 2500hp on the stock crank?? Maybe for one hit
You should tell Atomic fusion that he is wasting his money on that $3500 Billet CCW crank if this was true.
Stock cranks fail when pushed too far, just like any part. 1000hp sure, 1000rwhp probably do well for a while. But 2500hp no way.
I don't think this is anything near what the OP is asking but I'd sure hate to see some poor guy built a killer short block using the stock crank because he heard it was good for 2500hp.
