Default Anyone using the new 6266's with TTiX kit and .82 housings?

I am going for a full out build with Precision 6266's, 3" downpipes etc etc on a TTiX kit with a 402 cubed motor with my new build. My setup is most likely going to be a hybrid. Precision 6266's with Turbonetics .82 housings instead of standard .64 ones 6266's come with. Not choosing the bigger housings for max dyno numbers but I thought it would be more manageable. My car with my current turbos and smaller housings is almost uncontrollabe the way boost kicks in (auto with no boost by gear stuff) I am hearing from very reliable sources that even with the .82 housings the spooling characteristics will almost be the same! I could only imagine

Anyone has any first hand experience with the new 6266's with .64 or .82 housings on a TTiX kit?

All I heard was "something something turbos something AR something stupid fast". I like where this is going...

with the turbine wheel remaining the same size, 82 ar is better.. they make things like 2steps and nitrous if you need instant spool off the line..

You are building a combo similar to what I have planned when time and $$ allow.
I'll be following your results!
Good luck!

Car I just finished...

382 cube engine, off the shelf cam.
6265 turbos, 0.82 AR Turbine housing, on 17 psi this car has full boost at about 4000 RPM
Standing on it at 3000
By 3250 it has 540 RWT
3500 / 620 RWT
4000 / 700 RWT

Car clearly spinning on the dyno.
You have the benifit of the multiplication of the converter he did not have.
Likely would use a bit larger cam as well.

Curious why you would do an LS2 402 instead of an LS3 416.

^^^ You and Chris have LS6 347. Steve has LS3 416. Todd had LS7 427. I wanna try LS2 402 for variety and comparison

There are a bunch of LS2 402 TTi Xs out there. Not exactly a new combo. The difference in your case would be the 3'' pipes & 6266s. I'm looking forward to seeing the results. Who is doing the build? Sounds like a fun winter project.

I'm planning on a six point cage and a Lonny's fuel system over the winter. With that I should be able to max what I have. If that's still not enough I'll explore more options next winter.

The spool on my car is so quick that I don't even need to brake boost. I make peak torque just past 4000rpm. On 11psi I made 770whp and 800 ft-lbs of torque. Granted I have 6265s with 0.82 housings and 3" downpipes on a 427, but not too far off. I couldn't imagine how hard they'd spool with the smaller housings.

That's just fantastic.
That is exactly the kind of setup I look forward to doing.
What size are the injectors?

I think Dave is using ID 1000 injectors. I am going to be going up from FIC 60lb injectors to ID 1000 as well with my new build along with RSI Stage 3 fuel system. Hopefully the end results will be a killer mid 9 second street car trapping 150.XX with A/C and full audio system

I believe you are correct.
I know he has mentioned it previously.
From what he and others have said, those ID injectors seem to be the ticket when it comes to tunability.
I'd spend the extra money, too.
You are building what I think will be one great street car!
That's the goal here, too, full equipment with serious trap speeds!
Best of luck!

I have ID1000s as mentioned. Only the finest Cambodian breast milk. 55-57% duty cycle at wide open throttle, and flawless fueling during idle/light cruise with no lean misfires from a lazy injector. The injectors also allow fully predictable linear behavior because of the proper offsets and short pulse adder being available.

That's what I was going for with mine... 150+ trap speeds on pump 93 octane from Costco (don't knock it... because it doesn't knock!) with no meth while keeping AC and heated seats.

Just FYI at this time 62/66's are not available with .82 housings so I went with 62/65's and .82. Pretty expensive stuff for sure but it's going to be worth it in the end

I was just reading in one of our PRI books, that Precision will be unveiling a new version 64/66 in Orlando in December. Im excited to get my hands on one. Hopefully it will be a nice middle road between the 62/65 and 67/65.
