Default Tire Question

This was also posted in wheels/tires but haven't gotten anything back.

I have an 08 Z06 with an ECS SL1500 kit on it. The car makes a little over 600whp.

I'm currently running NT-05's all the way around. On the hottest days of the summer...they are great and traction is not a problem. On the other 350 days of the year they don't hook for crap. I took the car out tonight for a spin for the first time in a while. it was 55-60 degree's outside and the car was down right reckless through the first 3 gears. No point in pushing it cause the law of averages will eventually put me in a tree.

I'm looking for some feedback on the NT05R DR's for the rear. Compared to the NT-05 do you guys think they'll be able to hook to at least feel like the car is in control?

Thanks much

Joel - you know my thoughts, but to repeat them I think the NT-05r will help in a big way to get traction (at least in 2nd on up). They do hook better than the regular NT-05s without a doubt. just my $.03

p.s. my offer still stands - you come pick up my rims with the NT-05rs on them, have my NT-05s remounted, then Rs are yours free and clear.

I make similar power and with the nt05rs I can hook all of 2nd in any temp ABOVE 60. Once it gets below 60 2nd spins alittle depending on how long you have driven on them and if you clean them off before any major punches from 50mph or so. You will like them, just keep them below 30lbs and they will be solid at high speeds.

What he said! Gotta go "R" There is no way around it!

I like the M/T's!
I had the toyo proxes & didn't like them (Too Noisy & overpriced for what you get). No experience with Nitto's yet.
