I am going to install a catch can on my LS2 with an eforce. I am trying to figure out the proper hose routing but I want to be sure I'm doing it properly.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Finally installed the can today. Seems to be a very good quality product, nicely made. Its a bit tough to decide where to put it with the limited space available under the hood. Amazingly, with the supplied bracket it fits perfectly attached with the bolt that holds the evap valve. Looks good there and there is plenty of room to unscrew the bottom and empty the can when needed.
The eforce side cover will not fit with the can installed this way. I have not used those cover anyways as I see no need for them but I will get the right side cover trimmed to fit around the can in case I ever change my mind on that.
Ips installed an odd can on my car that doesnt unscrew... and coincidently... im having issues with my motor now... trying to make heads or tails of whats going on

If you mean its not running properly, maybe the hoses are routed wrongly. Mine runs the same as before the install.
From your photo's, it appears you inserted the catch can between the passenger side valve cover and the super charger. The drivers side connections (valve cover to Intake Plenum) there is no catch can. Do you plan on adding a catch can to the drivers side connections?

I will monitor and see if that will be needed. If so I will probably block the valve cover and vent through the filler cap. I believe this won't be needed as that hose has no trace of oil what so ever in it until now.
I asked about the passenger side connection because when changing to a smaller E-Force pulley for more boost, the throttle body must be removed. I found oil on the throttle blade, back side of the TB and the intake runner to the SC. I now have catch cans on both the driver side and passenger side connections (two cans). Having catch cans on both connections will not eliminate oil ingestion completely but it will certainly help.

Surprising to me that oil would come from right side line but I will keep an eye on it.
Sorry for my ignorance, but what is the purpose of the catch can? I just put an eforce on my 2010 grand sport manual trans. Do I need to consider a catch can? Just my fair weather driver.
I currently have a 2 valve catch can ant I think I'm gonna route both valve covers to the 1 inlet with a T fitting and use both the stock vacuum ports. I just cant find a good spot to put it. It wont fit where Realcanuk put his(I have the RX can) I'm thinking of putting it behind the radiator just in front of the tensioner.
Can the RX can be mounted horizontally?
I ended up putting mine in the passenger side front bumper.
Here I put green tape on the hoses for the catch can
I hope my measurements are right for the fog light!
From your pictures, it appears that the front bumper must be removed for Catch Can access. Is this true or how do you access the Catch Can with everything buttoned up?
I can just pull the panel its attached to and reach in to the petcock. I left enough slack in the tubes for it to move a little. Ill put the drain tube out the fog light adjuster hole on the bottom.
Where to connect? where to connect? lots of debate on where is the best place to connect the catch can lines.. took some time to monitor and inspect the lines and this is what i came up with..
I pulled my SC cover off and i found a generous amount of oil under the cover, sort of confusing on where to tap the lines for the catch can.. I used an endoscope inspection camera in my TB and looks like the oil is coming from the vent connection under the SC neck (in my case) circled in blue..
That connection is going to the valley plate port right next to it. Essentially the hose is making a loop sc to valley plate steps 182/183 of the 1572 e-force installation guide http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...rgers/1573.pdf, this is where the oil is being sucked in from, upon closer inspection of all my ventilation hoses looked dry, the only hose that has residual oil film is the valley plate hose going to the connection circled in blue.. also you could see oil pooling inside the TB around that connection.
My 2 cents
Hope this helps

The LS7 E-force must use different PCV routing. My valley plate was replaced with one that did not have ant PCV venting. My kit uses both valve cover vents.
realcanuk, I am moving my catch can location and have test fit to the location you are using (EVAP). However, I have a hood light and it appears that the hood liner, which is bubbled around the hood light, will contact the top of the catch can and/or its connections when closing the hood. Does your hood liner contact your catch can?
