Default E-Force intercooler temp question

After driving 25 minutes i pulled into the garage, popped hood, checked for leaks (had small one 2 days ago) in coolant lines. Found none, smelled no antifreeze smells. but.....

feeling temps on the intercooler lines and the intercooler tank, they felt barely warm , almost cool to the touch.

opened the intercooler tank, no release of pressure sound, stuck finger into tank and... it was cool. It was full as it should have been. Outside temp is 55 degrees. Engine temp was normal (about 196)

Put a candy thermometer into intercooler tank and it read less then 100, about 90.

Before i go checking intercooler pump/connections, i was wondering..

Question... does your intercooler tank/lines feel cool if outside is about 55 degrees??

Not sure if I'm following you. The only time the coolant between the intercooler and the heat exchanger will be warm(hot) is is when the supercharger is running under boost conditions. As soon as you get out of the throttle, the internal bypass valve opens and the air flowing past the intercooler is ambient air(55* in your case) therefore there is no heat for the coolant to remove from the intercooler. Not only is the air bypassing the supercharger's rotors is cool, the coolant is being circulated through the heat exchanger located in front of the radiator, which also has 55* air passing through it, cooling it down.

Look in the intercooler tank with the engine running. The water should be circulating. If it is not it will stay cool. This happened to me once and it turned out that the fuse for the pump had blown. If it is circulating then it is possible you just didn't drive long enough or hard enough for it to get hot.

Sounds like your coolant pump is not working. As mentioned above, start the car and open the heat exchanger reservoir. Fluid should be circulating.

OK!!! water running like crazy in the intercooler tank.

I should have done that last night. Thanks to everyones advice. Giving each responder 2 gold stars or 2 beers or 2 studded tires from my old neon... lol

Yes intercooler must run really cool normally.

I don't know about "normally" but I can tell you when the car is pushed, like on a dyno, the fluid in that container will get very hot.

yes and no

water is a better heat conductor than coolant

but the thermostate will still open at the same temp 195 or 165 etc

I'm not sure I like everything I've read about water-wetter but I am following this with interest.

It may have potential.
