I am about to get a good short block for my 2007 Z and was thinking in getting an LSX since a sleeved LS7 takes a long time to get. I don't care about the weight but I do care about the water temperature. Is it true that the engine will run hotter all the time?
Your help is appreciatted.
Thank you very much,

Mine runs pretty warm. In 100+ heat, I can only run the AC for about 20 minutes in stop and go before I hit 240* coolant temp. At that point, I kill the AC until coolant is back at 210-220 where I want it. The turbos don't help. As soon as the ambient temp is below 90, I can run the AC all day with the hood shut, idling, and never overheat.

I do have a Dewitt's radiator and will be adding Spal fans soon. A vented hood will help too.

At the end of the day, don't let the iron block scare you.

I only have 130 miles on mine with an Ecs kit. Runs 185-189 around town with AC off in 85-90 outside temps. 210 with AC on. Same as when I had the stock block.

Same here, noticed no difference in coolant temps between the LSX and LS7.

I really appreciate your responses. Here is hot EVERY day, that is why I am concerned. If you guys convince me I might go this way. Thank you again.
