Default Does MAF convert to Boost???

I recently added a katech cam to my zo6 with an A & A si kit...my boost level went from 6psi to 4 at WOT...the tuner tells me that the MAF at 98 is 0 boost and at 104 is 6psi???

Can someone explain this to me please?

Map, not maf.

And 104kpa isn't 6psi, it is ~0.5 psi.

I know the difference between map and maf; thank you. I'm trying to get an answer as to what the gunner said.

A MAF doesn't read "98" or "104". It reads a frequency. Idle is usually in the 2500-3000Hz range depending on intake tube size and a couple other things.

Barometric pressure is usually around 98-100kPa, or even lower depending on where you are. 104kPa is only about 0.5psi as Unreal said. 6psi would be around 141kPa. 4psi is about 128kPa.

Your "tuner" doesn't seem to have given you usable information.

Definitly seems like some confusion between MAF and MAP. I guess its possible to lose a little boost with a cam change, depending on the cam.

So a MAP reading of 104 is not 6 psi?

No. Maybe his numbers are transposed, 140 would be much closer to 6 psi.

Like I said, map of 104kpa is about 1/2 a lb of boost.
