Default Results after adding Pfadt headers

I added a set of Pfadt headers with cats to our 10GS. I drove it down to have Doug do the retune. I had stock manifolds and cats. The cats were starting to fall apart so I figured I might as well get headers since the gutted cats sounded like azz..
The mods were:
ECS blower Kit
ECS Meth kit
Factory ZR-1 cam
Z06 fuel pump w/bap

I was at 680rwhp/639rwtq. All I added were the Pfadt headers and the retune. The car now has: 732rwhp/699rwtq. I gained 52rwhp/60rwtq. The car still drives like stock, and you can't hear the headers on the highway. (screams on the dyno!!) Put about 350 miles on the car today.

Unfortunately the last time at the track before the headers the car only went high 10's. Found out my 4 year old belt was slipping and it had torque management still somewhat on. So Tommy threw on a new belt after the first dyno run today. Can't wait to get to the next rental to see if it will go 9's

Thanks again ECS

One thing Rich left out too, this is an A6 car!

Rich, nice job on the install as usual, and tell Jamie i said thanks for the cookies!

Albert, I was impressed with the overall fit and finish, and the results are simply awesome, but I do not have any other ZR1 cammed Grand Sport A6's to compare with that I can think of.

This really is a great combo though IMHO, the car drives like stock, yet I have no doubt it is 9 second capable. Rich is a racer, so in time I'm sure he will run it out!

In case anyone is wondering how he has a four year old belt on a 2010 GS, the kit was on his 08 first.

Here is an over lay of the exact same combo (LS3-A6-2.73rear-pulley size-and mod list) with 1 7/8" headers to Rich's 1 3/4" Pfadt headers.

The car in this graph that made 700 rwhp has ran 10.00 @ 138, so I would expect somewhere in the 9.8/9.7 range from Rich's car.

Those really are amazing results for such a mild combo. I am shocked it picked up that much power though, especially going to a smaller header.

If it didnt come from you Doug, I wouldnt believe these results. Im still not to sure I believe it...

Oh gotcha. He did say that he installed them and drove there. Basically I wanted to observe the difference across the full rpm range, moreso at the mid-rpm range where I would expect the smaller tubes to behave more like stock manifolds and likely make more power (or torque) than 1 7/8" primaries.

Would having no cats give him a little more with this combo, or not worth the little amount of gain?

Is it expected that the cats deteriorate in two to three years with a combo like this, or was something not perfect with the tune?

WOW!! Doug, so the only difference between these two combos are the headers and cam?

He went from stock manifolds to the Pfadt headers, the graph comparison above is two separate cars, just with the same exact mods besides header brands and the ZR1 cam.

I just report what I see, so "it is what it is".

AHHH! OK! I read it wrong. I was under the impression it already had the cam and went from 1 7/8" to 1 3/4" headers.. Was his previous pulls on your dyno or someone elses?

Regardless, thats moving... Especially through a auto. That trans is short for this world!

close to 700rwhp and a stock cat is going to eventually take them out, it's just the way it is. The high flow cats hold up much better, but they go sometimes too, it is asking a lot of them.

Previous pulls were on our dyno, with the stock manifolds it made 680 rwhp.

Sounds like a good combo for stock like drivability.

the difference in torque is pretty significant. how much do you think is due to the cam vs the headers?
