Default which supercharger & why

In regards to a centrifgal - a TVS2300 - or a Whipple supercharger - which one seems to be the best all around performer and why? TIA

I went centrifugal and got the ECS SC1500 kit. I decided to go that route because I like the mid and upper end power they provide. I feel that the roots-style blowers offer too much low end power (for my needs) and are prone to more heat soak issues at the track. With the ECS kit, you can get a restrictor plate added that will help increase low end power more than a normal centri blower would which to me seemed like the best of both worlds. Also, Doug at ECS took more time out of his schedule than anyone else did to discuss supercharging in general with me and helped me pick a kit based on MY needs. Glad I went ECS and I'm looking forward to many miles of troublefree blower goodness.

Funny, just because...... LOL. My advice is to get a manufacturing company that can back their stuff like Procharger, you have choices, a F1A/ or a D1SC is a very nice kit, They are self contain units meaning you don't have to drill your factory oil pan and you don't have to have oil passes through them via your engine oil.
You can always call Procharger Company for professional customer service.
With a D1SC Procharger kit which I had and upgraded to a F1A in my C6 and upgraded to a F1R in my C5 is very reliable, makes as much RWHP needed for the street and have never heard anything bad about their kits, the Procharger New Bracket with a Flip Drive designed and supplied by Cartek will be trouble free for over 100k miles with fun to the respond of a throttle. Absolutely no belt issues like slipping or tearing and can be peaked if necessary for maximum HP. An upgrade if necessary for more power will just be the head unit, everything else will be the same.

I am not here for a debate but is only giving you my advice from my experience, now there are different choices from different members, some men love Blondes, some men love men and some love Big Mouth woman, so yes there will be different choices, but the question is the good reasons for their choice.

The reason for an advice should not be because a cheerleader like a shop and want you to like the same shop or the same shop product, its a trend here on this forum and the followers will come on here and support a shop and try to convince new bees to do the same and most people always like the shop that have the most supporters, be careful, not because a shop have many supporters means they are as good as the supporters are saying.

ECS, trouble free, self contained, no need to upgrade in the future, 594rwhp/593rwtq on stock LS3 w/ no thrills headers....... KOOKS, I'm sure w/LG headers the numbers would shine over 600s......

Roots style S/C kits are popular with heavier cars such as Camaros & Mustangs....

Just by seeing so many threads here of ppl having issues with other centri kits, Ive decided to get the ECS kit

I'm a fan of centri's and specifically the Procharger kits and headunit. Really nice intercooler that can support a lot of power and the upgraded bracket design is nice. Good much with your search and choice.

Obviously I have my opinion on this.
I always urge potential customers to compare each kit IN DETAIL.
Look at intercooler design and placement, sheet metal work to direct air to the intercooler and radiator (or lack thereof), the use of complex bends in silicone hoses for clearance vs. standard 90* rubber bends, stainless constant tension clamps throughout vs. standard worm gear or T Band clamps, fit and finish etc.
I don't think there is another manufacturer that can compare in those areas.
Our bracket design is also tried and true. You just don't hear of issues with our design.
We have kits for those never planning on doing engine work that can run for years without issue to kits than can make 1000 HP.
We also have everything in stock 95% of the time.
With the capability to build about 15 kits a week. There is usually a very short wait to receive your system.
We produced 376 supercharger systems in 2012 and this year will surely surpass that.
There are many reasons so many choose the A&A systems. Unsurpassed customer support, aesthetics, performance, ease of installation, availability and price are among them.

Ask me and I will tell you I had a year vacation for complaining about a vendor who stole $9k from me for a motor that was not good and was not supplied until 8 months after a promise that it was ready for shipping 10 days after purchased. I also know a few members here that want to complain about a very reputable shop that have many followers but are scared and say its best to leave it alone instead of risking forceful vacation.
I got screwed by the same shop and it cost me a motor in 2 days after they tune my car, they did try to help me by offering to retune my car after I build and reinstall my new motor. I just didn't want to take that chance again so I declined their offer and have to eat it like a man. I am still a happy camper enjoying my ride and having fun along the way in my life, Livin Up.
🙈🙉🙊. Well said my friend !

I just dropped it off and 1 week later 560rwhp 528 rwtq stock LS2 w/ AR headers. It's the most fun I've had in a car...so far. I'm addicted now. I may add a meth kit sooner than i thought. It runs even better than it looks.

Worked a lot on a procharger car, had an A&A and ECS. Out of the 3 I would choose ECS.

That being said, TTIx would probably be my choice now or turbos but for blowers.

Default No Cheerleading here. Just experience shared

I think you'll find that each style of supercharger has its pros and cons. Each style can deliver better performance. It seems agreed if you want the low end grunt go for the roots. If you're after mid high range power then look towards the centri. Do you want to cut or replace your hood is another consideration.
For me I can only say that ECS treated me right. No BS, straight shooters, all promises fulfilled and great turn around time.
I have had bad experience's from Jokers in the past where the car sits and sits. I have had poor quality repairs too. (who hasn't).
I am not cheerleading for anybody. I have only this experience to share as you have to decide on a reputable shop.
I cannot comment on any other vendor as I have not done business with them.
If you asked if I would go to ECS again I say ABSOLUTELY!

I wonder what the OP wants out of his f/i setup. Does that really matter? Maybe he needs to fill in a few blanks before the recommendations flow. Just a thought

ECS kit here..... made 765 rwhp on a stock LS3 with a Cam, Headers, Meth with the Novi 2200 on 12 psi..... also kept the same kit but swapped out the 2200 for a ysi.... direct swap with the brackets.... and made 973 rwhp on my 416 on 20 psi... it had an Arun Stage 4 Cam, Same Headers, Meth Kit, as before..... Upgraded the fuel system obviously....

With that said, I popped a head gasket on the 416...pulled that engine and gonna put it in a different chassis, and put the stock ls3 back in... Gonna rock that set up with the YSI on lower boost.....

A&A V3 here on my 11' GS and I am really pleased. It was a toss up betwen the A&A and ECS kit for me. I think they are both great kits. I would recommend the V3 self-contained unit if you go A&A. One thing I did not do when I bought the supercharger is upgrade the exhaust or toss the stock tires. That is next on my list!

Trinic5 has been in this game for a long time and obtained alot of experience through trial and error with many of the supercharger shops here in the NE. I would heed his advice and also remember claimed HP gains from some of these"well respected shops" are just that-claimed. We have seen supposedly 700+RWHP cars dynoing more like 600 RWHP AFTER improvements were done-take the numbers some folks claim with a grain of salt-and its not the customers fault they are going by the shops dyno sheet they get after the work is done. D1 procharger here on my c5 since 2000 still running strong. Good luck with your decision.
