Default ProEFI and nitrous?

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone is running the ProEFI on a nitrous vette?? I am thinking about going that route but I needed to know if I need any of my nitrous switches/controllers?? I am pretty sure I will not need my LPE timing retard box or my NOS window switch... but my main concern is do I need to run a progressive controller? or is that going to be an option in the ProEFI?? I am thinking about running duel stage direct port dry kit but still not sure about that just yet. I have been told the Wet kit is easier and thats what I have right now but I am changing my intake so I will be installing a new kit and I have the option to do Dry or Wet......... what do you nitrous guys think? I know Wet vs Dry is a been beat to death but I would like to hear your thoughts one more time....

how hard is the software? I am familiar with HP tuners tables so if it was as easy as that it will be great. Also setting up traction control and flex fuel option is it easy too?? I will see if there is any vids on youtube or if I can download the software and just mess with it before buying it. but I am pretty sure I am going that route.

Finally who has the best deal on the ProEFI with the plug and play harness for an 07 Z06?

Thanks

As far as I'm concerned d3PE is the go to people for pro-efi support for our cars. With that being said, pro-efi is generally pretty easy to use, but setting up the traction control and some of the other advanced features is significantly more challenging than working with hptuners (just the nature of the beast). You can d/l the proefi software for free I believe if you want to check it out. There is no doubt the software works but it does leave a little to be desired as compared to Motec or even AEM's new stuff IMO.

THIS!

The flex fuel you have to wire in yourself but the traction control is already there. It goes through the stock ECU, once you turn it off with your normal TC button the Pro EFI takes over and does it's thing.

FWIW, the factory PCM will do flex fuel.

Thanks I emailed Chris yesterday and he said I will not need any of the controllers but when I talked to ProEFI they said I will need the progressive controller so now I am not sure. but we know at least that I don't need timing retard or window switch so thats good.

Thanks for the info... I will download it and check it out and see how easy it is. I have talked to guy that did few of them and he says its not too bad. its just going to be new software and will take some time to get used to.

Nice! so there is no real setup for traction control? just on and off? or will there be some adjustments? I guess I will find out when I get it... my only concern is if I need my progressive controller or not as this will be the thing that will make me decide if I am getting the ProEFI. Thanks

I had no idea! how easy/hard is it to setup that? I am guessing it will be switching between the low and high octane tables? I don't know much about tuning but that is def a nice option if you can do it through the stock ecu!

Holley HP or Dominator ECU is the way to go. Everything built in and super easy to configure on an LS car, IMO. Lots of support.

How hard it is depends on how technically savvy you are. I'm extremely comfortable with electronics and the tuning software so its nothing for me.

Pro efi is a very good system to use. Chris is a good tuner when it comes to the pro efi probably one of the best. But if u want a good shop to do the install and a shop thats honest and that wont rip u on price. Give serious hp a shot. My car is their right now and stephan the owner is a great and honest guy.. he has done alot of vettes. And all the ones I have seen came out great. I highly recomend him. Its very hard to find an honest shop. Shp is the best..

Haltech all day, every day. Before you commit, please give Doug at ECS a call or email to discuss Haltech. I'm telling you - incredible functionality, including your current needs.

took a quick look at it, its cheaper but not sure how hard it is to install. I would like to get some sort of a plug an play system like the ProEFI. have you had those installed in a C6? do you sell it as a kit with everything needed for an 07 Z06? how easy/hard to tune? let me know if yes.

Thanks

Thanks for the recommendation. I will hit them up and see what they can do for me. install will be done at a local shop I use but will probably need someone to tune it for me.

I was actually considering that too but it seems like the ProEFI is used more and from the people I talked to its easy to tune and to install too with the vette harness. I will talk to Doug and see what he thinks.

Thanks!

I dont own a vette yet. My car is the black single turbo supra with the red on the wheels. My car made 683 rwhp and 650 tq on 25 psi. With alot left in it. Car should make 775-800 rwhp when the tune is finished... I will be buying a new c7 when they come out or when I feel comfortable that the bugs will be worked out..I do know that shp is a very good shop. And pro efi is the best ecu.
