Default E Force 554

Got e force installed few days ago. I was not very impressed with the power...415 at wheels. Called edelbrock and asked a few questions about rebate and warranty. I told them that I wanted stage 2 (599) crank hp kit and was told that I could not get warranty with stage 2 upgrade because I should have bought stage 2 to start with, and warranty would not be available.I had called them prior to the purchase and installation and their was no mention of not getting warranty from stage 1 to stage 2 upgrade, which is just a z06 fuel pump and smaller pulley. I spent appox. 9 grand on product and install, which I was planning on only about thousand more on stage 2. I was wanting to test 544 kit and decide if I needed more and if so, I would have bolts tightened and check for any vac. and boost leaks, and have boost and fuel pressure gauges installed....made sense to me. Would I do this b.s. again...hell no! If you want z06 hp, buy a z06, it would be cheaper and have warranty and have a z06..not a want to be, like me. If a had a standard I would have went with a cam, header package...would sound cool, as much hp gain as a e force and would be cheaper

Who installed it? Is it on an LS2 or an LS3. What were your baseline numbers before install? Who did the post install tune? I think you can do better than 415 Rwhp on both an LS2 and an LS3 with headers and a tune. Something seems wrong.

Also, ask a mod to move this over to the FI section.

Had it done in okc, 2011 grand sport, ls3...really do not know what kind of dyno they used, but did not dyno it before install. It runs better, but it feels like maybe 50 hp. better, hard to tell. The money I spent I was expecting more! But I had plan b, I thought until edelbrock told me I could not buy warranty with plan b... that is b.s.

Motorhead-47 would be a good forum member to pm. He has a lot of
knowledge and experience with e-force. Might be worth a little time to do a chat.

He may actually find this thread and jump in before the mods move it,
if that is what they decide to do. Anyway, good luck on your situation.

It seems like you should be seeing closer to 500 rwhp, perhaps more. Forum members will step in and help. Perhaps reach out to motor head as mentioned. You should be able to do significantly better.

554 hp flywheel should definitely produce more. Something wrong.

Something is definitely wrong, take it to another shop and preferably one that has done an install of the Edelbrock kit before.

I had a 2011 GS with the same kit and the car was a beast.

415 is ********, even on a box tune, on a mustang dyno
Go take it to people who know what they're doing.

Does he think it is putting out 554 at the flywheel as all of their stuff reads?

In all fairness, without a baseline, there is no way to know what the gain is. Who did your install and tune? Why didn't they baseline it? It is pretty common practice to start with the baseline before doing any performance work.

My numbers exactly also, with aftermarket tune. Even if you have someone do a new tune on it now, Edelbrock will not warranty it anyway, ( only warranty if you use their tune ). I would do the pump and pulley, retune with someone knowledgeable, and be happy. I am more than happy with mine the way it sits, ( '10 GS )

Sounds like an installer issue, not an eforce issue. Those results dont seem right at all.

Is the car tuned properly? Last year a local tuner told me he could get 17-20 HP. Per pound of boost on an LS3 with an A&A supercharger.

Did you use the Edelbrock programmer that came with the Eforce kit? If so, that's your problem. I have the Eforce Competition Kit installed on my 2008 Coupe. This is the same kit as the 599 package, without the Edelbrock programmer. My car has a custom tune. It could be worth your time to drive from OKC to Dallas and visit 21st Century Muscle Cars. They can properly tune your car and you will see much more RWHP.

My car dyno'ed at 481.5 RWHP and 456.6 ftlb torque.

Are you attending the Lone Star Corvette Classic this weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway? 21st Century will be there.

If you want a third party to check to tune and make sure it is running right let me know. I'm in Norman now but would be glad to meet up one evening and log a few highway runs.

Something is for sure up. Even not knowing which dyno manufacturer it was on... bolt on ls3 cars make more than that.

Do you have the dyno graph?
