Default Fi Clutch options?

I figured i would start a thread to get opinions and experience with some Clutches for Fi C6s.

the 3 im looking at are

SPEC Super twin ST trim.
Centerforce DYAD.
RPS triple.

i have a RXT right now but dont think it will hold the power im making.
right now im pushing ~950 ft# but on race gas im shooting for 1050-1150 ft#.

Obviously the First 2 are the most cost effective. Any thoughts and opinions on the 3 clutches? anyone had one and moved to a different clutch? any other options clutch wise?

I would like something that will hold the power but also drive well. my RXT drives like stock ... im okay having a littler harsher drive if it holds the power..

Racecar problems, David. Hope I had some sway in our conversation to go "X", but personally, I'd talk to Jeff(inspector12), and the Joe, Danny and the Lethal guys. Last time I checked, Danny from SA of Jeff probably couldn't squat half what your big *** does.

But for me, I have to have a clutch that slips on its own.

The P trim we pulled out looked great david. I honestly feel the spec will be more than enough as far as strength goes. For drivability the rps triple is hard to beat though. (as long as it is installed properly which i'm confidant it would be!

Mark, hopefully the lethal guys will chime in with what they are using. What is the x car you showed me running?

How did it drive? I know in the fbody its in i was told its on or off.
I ddont mind the clutch being grabbier than the rxt just not a light switch.
I like the rps, but i need injectors too so the budget is getting tight lol.

Why not just run the RXT until it gives up? If you're not gonna be seriously drag racing at the strip, I bet it holds you for a while.... Then save your pennies up for an RPS Triple..

Highway rolls and blowing tires off is not THAT hard on a good clutch..

I'd run that RXT until it starts slipping and have the back up plan ready.

The X car G-Force car has a Centerforce DYAD David. If you call and talk to Centerforce they will tell you what they told me which is they don't really care about the HP, as long as it was making less that 1300lbs of TQ it will hold. Although I will tell you that, I don't believe it would hold up to some thing that approches that kind of TQ at the track. Lethal had a DYAD in one of the ZR1's with No2 on it and it didn't hold at the track on the dope. I think they burned that one up. But not 100% on the details of that particular car and what happened. I was just at the track that day when it happened, and Danny was pretty sure that was a DYAD in the car etc... The RPS tripple is about the only clutch that I have seen really hold up to all kinds of abuse, but you know they are pricey etc... And some seem to drive OK, and others have terrible diving manners, but hold. I don't know what the difference is in them if its breakin or what??? GL! When I put this other motor in my car, I will inspect my DYAD very good to see how its holding up to make a decision on if I think its going to hold up to any more power. But I do believe it will hold up to yours because your TQ is considerably less than mine. but couldn't tell you about future power you might make etc...

Jeff.. I think when i go for a kill tune it will make 1050-1150 ft# unless i pully down. Maybe if the rxt holds ill do injectors and hold off till i can do an rps.

You could always just be happy with 1100rwhp and leave it alone, drive it, race, and enjoy....

Yeah I beleive that, and agree with your thought process. I don't know what the G-Force X car made TQ wise, but it made 1247 or something so I have to guess its in the 1000-1100 range and he seems to be doing ok with the DYAD so far.

I've been pleased with my unsprung Mantic 9000. Has held up to a ton of abuse and I'm north of 1000 rwhp / rwtq. What's great about the clutch is the ability to slip it for daily driving. Feel free to pm me with any questions. Good luck!

Who has the best deal on the RPS triple? what about the Spec or DYAD? i know that most of the sponsors wont post their " best price" because of vendor agreements..but im interested in pricing. my goal is to do a clutch and ID1300s in a few months.

My centerforce was junk. Had nothing but trouble with it. It was hard to shift and just never felt right. Took it out put in a RPS carbon tripple the guys from lethal set it up and it has worked great from day one. It does release alittle higher than stock but it drives great

Should have read the whole tread. My car is the one inspector12 was refering to. Yes it was a dyad and it was setup by LG so I dont think it was the installation.
