Default Solid Roller setup on a Daily Driven Z06?

anyone has a similar setup?

I am thinking about going solid roller but worried about the maintenance involved. I would like to be able to rev this thing higher and make over 650whp with 11.5-12.0 compression. would you recommend it?

I will have about 250-300miles a week that involves city and highway driving and some racing too. how often will I need to check and adjust? also any recommendations on lifters or certain parts that works better than other? I am welling to spend the money and make sure I am getting quality parts. I have LSX DR heads and would like to be able to actually benefit from them and their flow and make some good N/A and nitrous power ( I have a nitrous outlet spray bar kit with 250shot)

any help would be appreciated!

I looked into this a while back when I considered buying a motor that already had a solid roller setup. I use my car about the same as you and was told I would be fine adjusting once per year which is not bad considering how aggressive you can setup the top end. To take advantage of something like that though I would go with higher compression (above 12:1). I've seen 13:1 LS7 on 93 octane run just fine (no additives or meth).

That's all I've got, good luck!

I don't want anything higher than 12.0 because I would like to be able to run 91oct without having to take all the timing out. I think the highest I have seen (and was efficient) was around 12.4-12.5 with 93oct and no meth but I might be wrong.

any idea on brands that I should stay away from or so?

Thanks either way!

Can't look at just static compression. If you are considering a solid roller I'm guessing you are considering something gigantic which puts a big hit on your dynamic compression.

The setup is much less forgiving and can make more power. As far as tech has come I am happy in the land of hydraulic stuff. Solid has to be perfect on preload. PTV becomes a bigger issue.

I would say find someone who has a setup you can check out. They sound nasty.

Last setup I worked on was a 427 lsx that made 680 through a turbo 400 and 9 inch. It was no slouch. That was at nearly 8k and the owner wouldn't let us spin it higher. I absolutely would not want to daily drive it though.

Thanks... I might end up with a hydraulic cam I don't know yet. I am trying to figure this out I do drive the car almost daily especially in the summer. we will see how that goes...

What are you trying to build? SPECIFIC combo I mean. Where is your target redline?

Well I bought those DR heads, LSX carb style intake with nitrous outlet spray bar kit, and new ARH 2" headers to fit those DR heads, and now looking for a cam. My target is to hit 650+whp and still be kinda ok to drive it around every weekend.
