Dropped off my 2011 Grandsport last Thursday night over @ my friend Mark Mastrojohns (Forum name "Tirecraft") shop in Pt. Pleasant for him to install an ECS Novi 1500 kit! He did a clean install & fast turnaround time, I got the car back Monday night after getting dyno'd He brought the car over to Matt @ Tune Time Performance to deal w\ the tuning portion of the build... The car lend up making on their Mustang dyno 525 RWHP 490 TQ, Very Conservativly tuned @ 12 degrees of timing... No Headers, No Meth, Just the Blower kit & B&B Bullets!
Congrats! It sounds real strong. Just curious though, you're not far from ECS, why didn't you have them do the install and tune?
I knew this question would pop up... No particular reason, I wanted to give somebody else the opportunity to work on my car besides the big name shops, & Mark does this for a hobby because its enjoyable Did i mention he's a kick-*** mechanic, anyways I'm happy I choose the path I did... ECS is a great group of guys and I know tons of their current customers & past... Hopefully I'm still allowed @ their open house for a few dyno runs LOL they make a solid kit Jus so you know their are other good mechanics out their that work on Vettes Ha
Yeah, but can they pull 570hp/570tq from a base C5 with only 8 psi?
If you don't have anything positive to say i dunno why your posting in my thread @ all... I frankly dont care if they can or can not... 8psi on what a c5 z06? Its not always about the boost #, you know boost is just a measure of restriction! I think for just bolting on an ECS blower i did pretty well, like i said no other mods You do realize the dyno i was on (Mustang Dyno) is aka known as the heart breaker and reads the lowest out of the other brands... Dynapack, Dynojet, etc ... You can take your 570 RWHP & brag somewheres else pal LOL
Just took a look @ your signature, Reason for your lower boost #s is the long tube headers tend to drop 1.5 to 2 psi of boost due to better flow, but doesnt matter cuz your gaining it back in power & obviously your added HP on top of that is being gained from the Meth injection you have which keeps your IATs a lot cooler than mine and prevents your tune from pulling timing to cause a decrease in HP... I know you only know what your Shop told you but maybe you should pick up a book sometime & read up on your performance knowledge cuz clearly your lacking in that department Ha ha
To top it all off your blower is bigger, your comparing boost #s from my Novi 1500 compared to your Novi 2000 FYI...
Mark did a great job on the install! We talked about it throughout the install and it went seamless for him.
If your coming to the open house next Saturday, come early so you get on the list for the free dyno pull.
Hope to see you there, and thanks for the purchase!
Thanks for the kind words, the car is a totally different animal w\ the kit & the fit and finish was outstanding! I'll be rolling to the show w\ Joe Russo & Joe Zito... Would love to make a pull, See ya then!

This is the first ECS kit I have done . I have installed plenty of super charger/turbo kits in my life and I have to say this was one of the most complete and easiest kit I have installed .
The few questions I had Doug and Chris were there to answer .

I guess I'm a new ECS FAN !!
Thanks Mark!!!
We here at ECS are very happy to work with guys like Mark and Tune Time for our installs. We have slowly evolved to more manufacturing and warehousing, so we have no intentions of really ever increasing the size of our installation center. So while that helps us keep on top of things for the installs we do, it also makes us have to schedule a month or two out during peak seasons which not all are willing to wait for. (completely understandably) So to have local shops like these that we can work with for installs is a great combination, and we look forward to hopefully doing many more installs together over the years.

This is the exact same way I did my install with my brother in law, who has his own shop. The ECS crew stood by us the whole way! Going out later to enjoy the power when the sun goes down.

You didn't mention this was a reputable shop. Thank god ECS stepped in and cleared that up.

I said BASE C5.

You forgot that meth eliminates knock and allows for higher compression.

Mine is a 1500. 2000 will not give the car the same low end torque because it is a little too large for the stock motor. 2000 is generally better for larger/built motors. Only difference really, in mine is the meth and headers/high flow cats which should be done with FI to free up backpressure. If you add those mods, you will also need a re-tune. Congrats. FI is a blast.
