Default De-mod to sell?

I have a 2007 c6 that I purchased new. it has about 22k miles, of which about 5k are supercharged. it has the A&A kit, v2-sq, lg lt's, and meth injection. I will either sell or trade it in on a new c7.

For those of you that have sold or traded your modded c6, I have a few questions:

- did you find it difficult to sell your modded car?
- was it worth any more than stock?
- did dealers object to taking it in trade?

the parts cost was about 7k. I am expecting that I could sell them for about 3k. it will take me several days to remove everything and I am trying to decide if it is worth the effort.

I could keep the sc and headers for the c7, but I am not sure how much can be re-used.

thanks in ad advance for any inputs

I would try to sell it as is for right now and if it doesn't move, then go ahead and demod it. You can probably get $3500-$4000 for the blower kit if you include the meth kit. Headers probably $700-$900 if they are the good LG's.

De mod back to stock, You need all the original parts to do it. If you want to do it! Mods get next to nothing and more cars are over looked due to the mods and personal touches. if you find the right person who is looking for mods OK! But probably NOT!

Put an add on ebay, believe me it will move faster than most site out there and yes there are buyers for your car with the mods, I and many other car guys know what it cost to get a car to your car equivalent, so many will be willing to pay a little more than the going price for the additional mods. I did when I was buying my Viper with lots of choices I chose the one I owns today from Ebay also.

one benefit of trading in is that you're not taxed on the portion that you have paid off/trading in..

the tax will be on the full purchase price if I register in ca. I used to live in co and they use the difference between your trade and the new car as the cost basis. registering out of state may be an option, but it is a lot of effort and often a cost in establishing a residence in another state. I certainly don't want to a property just to gain a tax advantage. I wish there was an easy way to do this, not just for new vette, but cars, rvs and boats would be an advantage.

You are not far from A&A. I would talk to them and see what they would charge to put the car back to stock, and then 're-package' your kit, replacing any needed small parts to make it like new so you can advertise and sell the kit for max $$. The car will probably sell for very near the same price with or without the kit, but will be easier to find a buyer without it.

Oh, and you may have a difficult time getting the required smog certificate (at time of sale) if you sell it with those mods (particularly headers). But maybe you have that situation covered.

Smart move is to take off the go fast parts and sell them. Then sell the car or trade it in.

...Traded my 2006 (15K in mods). It added nothing, if I had to do over, strip it back to original conditions and sell the blower and stuff on e-bay, craigslist whatever.

In the event that you put your car back to stock and trade or sell privately is this something you need to disclose Or is this buyer beware

If I were to go back to stock and sell my car private party, I'd definitely do the honorable thing and disclose that it was modified. If I was trading it in to a dealer, probably not. Whether that's right or wrong, I'm not sure. I wouldn't give a dealer another reason to low-ball me on a trade, though.

Usually there are signs that a car has been previously modified. It pays to have a thorough inspection done by somebody who really knows the type of car you're buying. My 2 cents, anyway.

2 cars ago I was able to trade in my highly modified car but I didn't see a dime of extra money from the dealership. I couldn't get anyone to touch my last modded car. I tore it down to almost stock and sold the parts for $5K and still have the car to sell.
I'm sure you would sell that A&A in no time on here. IN fact PM me before you list it
