If you're fighting valve float I'd highly recommend the Ti retainers to keep the valvetrain weight as low as possible. Not like the trunion upgrade will do anything for the float but it's cheap insurance against losing needle bearings in your motor. The swap is easy and quite fun actually.

Phew! Sure am glad that I posted here before I hit the purchase button! lol...
Would I achieve any benefit by just upgrading the rockers at the same time? I only want to do it once if I'm going to do it. (I only drive the car about 5-7k a year)
Are you sure you are floating valves and not hitting the rev limiter ?
You gotta give me a little more credit than that! Sheesh. Yes it's floating the valves between 6k-6500. If I had the dyno sheet here I could show ya... I'll post it later this evening.

Well I HAD to ask...
Your trunnion question wasn't exactly a question I'd expect from a well-seasoned throttle jockey.

lol fair enough.. I've just never upgraded trunions before... generally we just swap for different rockers, Learning now that it doesn't help much on the LS3. So trunion upgrade here I come!
I'd say definitely do the trunions! why wouldn't you? Since you'll have it apart it's the perfect time for a cheap and easy upgrade! You don't want the stock careless needle bearings to explode all throughout your motor!
^i've seen a lot more upgraded trunion failures over stock. That's why I personally wouldn't do it.
I too have read about some failures with the upgraded trunnions. I don't know if it's an install issue or a bad component. You can do some searching and see pics where they look galled. I personally just left my rockers stock and I usually shift around 6700-6800rpm with a 7000rpm rev limit. I'm using the BTR dual springs with tool steel retainers also.
