I still have the original alternator that came with my 06. It's the 145 amp version. I know GM came out with a 150. Now that I have the A&A kit, should I get a higher amp alternator? At night with lights and ac, the amp sit around 13 and sitting in LA traffic every night means lots of idling.
Does the 150 make any difference or should I go 170 or 240?

If you are going to upgrade I would suggest a minimum 240. Just my two cents.
The 170A alternators from Bret on here are badass. I got mine 2 days ago. Is it needed? Not really, is it a good upgrade, yes. My voltage would drop to 12.2-12.3 when the car got really hot. I upgraded for a steady 14+.

I was getting service charging system messages and it was a PITA! This new alternator 170a fixed me right up. 14.5v dead nuts on at ALL times.
I replaced my stock one with another stock one and im at 14.5 all the time too!! lol ... My old one was dropping 13's to then 12's and then a night at the track and alternator died ! lol
