Looking into forced induction for my GS, Anyone have any issues with the added weight of the new systems like the EB or the Maggie Heartbeat? Will these systems be ok without headers?

I'm partial to centris, but weight only really matters* in road racing, and you wouldn't be adding an S/C if you were into that, right?

*1/4 Mile Rule of Thumb for 10 second to 15 second cars: 100lbs = 10rwhp = 1mph = .1 second = 1 car length in 1/4 mile

It will lower the front of the car 1/2"-3/4", so if you scrape already be prepared for that.

They are all ok without headers, but SC systems do tend to eat cats.

I was concerned about handling and ride and overall driveability.

Yep, if you have enough adjustment in the bolts you can raise it back up. Some people do, some don't. I have my bolts all the way up and it is still lower than factory.

And don't forget all the bugs you'll get in your teeth with the top off because you won't stop grinning with 50% more HP.

Again, unless you are road racing, where ounces count towards horizontal traction, I doubt you will notice any difference. Remember ZR-1's have a PD in there and I don't hear a lot of guys complaining.

I always advise people considering FI to find an installer/tuner who has a shop car you can test drive.

GS's have that option too. I have a new one on the way with the mag ride. I'm guessing the ZR1's have a little bigger front sway bar. The new Heartbeat TVS is supposed to be 17lbs lighter than the previous Maggie TVS. I don't think anything other than an all out road course machine (and driver) would know the difference. My lowly base C6 coupe with older Maggie TVS handles as good as I can drive it. The weak spot in that rig is between the seat and the steering wheel
