Call Livernois Motorsports in Dearborn Heights.
They installed my eForce ... excellent service and zero problems since the install.

Has anyone seen real world dyno numbers/results on a base LS3 for the Maggie Heartbeat? There is a thread here for an install on a Z06 but there have not been any HP Dyno results posted to it.

A local guy has one an it was having IAT issues on the dyno. It made 535ish under 10psi.

Default Heartbeat

Scottg,

Thanks for the info. I went back and read the threads from June through September. Interesting info. It appears that Magnuson still needs to make an improved effort to market and sale their Heartbeat product to the average car guy. This was the chatter in June, and I still perceived it in my dealings with them this past week. Unless you are willing to fork over an extra $2K for their Heatbeat, you have to buy elsewhere. Heartbeat may be the Sony Beta of superchargers. A superior product out-performed by inferior competitors at an acceptable consumer price-point.

Hi Ron,

In addition to Scott G's thread, I posted some numbers on a bone-stock GS, comparing it to our older kit:

Hope that helps,

Turbo2L - That's odd, because we typically see IATs very close to ambient, and Heartbeat typically makes a lot more power than that at 10 psi. Can you PM me with the name of the shop or put me in touch with the owner? If there's an issue I'd like to get them in touch with our tech and calibration team.

The PD blowers will have a higher IAT than a Centri blower at the same power levels. We would recommend the A&A kit as the best value vs. power for your money.

Yes, the car was a completely stock GS.

We have a number of installers with dynos in the Detroit metro area. Three great shops that I can highly recommend:

- Lingenfelter has installed a number of Heartbeats, and have a facility in Brighton, MI, and one a couple hours away in Decatur, IN; lots of experience with Corvettes and they were the ones that recently did the exhaustive engine-dyno testing with Heartbeat

- Livernois in Dearborn Heights is currently installing a Heartbeat on a G8; great shop with lots of experience and extensive capabilities

- Blue Collar Performance in Westland is a smaller shop and has yet to install a Heartbeat, but is extremely capable and has experience with our other kits. Our head of calibration shares an office and shop space with them and often pitches in on Magnuson tuning and installs

I think I will be going with Livernois for the install. I have one question for Matt @Magnuson. After installing the blower as it comes how do I increase the boost if there are no smaller pulleys to be had? Is there anything I can do during this current install to prepare for added power improvments Later? I think Livernois can start on my car as soon as they get a unit are they on the shelf and available now?

Thanks

You can do a 10% overdrive crank pulley and bump the boost up a little that way while you wait for them to release other pulleys for the Heartbeat. Any airflow mod you do will actually lower boost. If you add headers, port the intake manifold, add a cam, etc. You will still be adding power with those mods, but since it flows better your boost will go down a bit.

I've just had the Heartbeat installed and an using an Innovators West 10% O.D. damper combined with a Magnuson 87mm dia. 8-rib blower pulley making ~10 lbs. (max. boost).

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-f...rtbeat-c6.html

The Magnuson Heartbeat blower pulley is NOT the same as the TVS 2300 and is not interchangeable. Magnuson offer optional blower pulley in the these dia. sizes in both 6 & 8 rib configurations :

93mm, 90mm, 87mm, 84mm & 81mm.

The kit is provided with a 96mm dia. 6-rib blower pulley which I'm told is designed for ~4-5 lbs. (max.) boost. The optional pulley(s) are available directly from Magnuson at a cost of ~$106.25 ea. + shipping.
I was told at the time of order (last month), the 8-rib pulley production is just becoming available in limited production. That's why I was no able to purchase the smallest 81mm pulley. They may all be available now.

My shop estimates by swapping to the smallest pulley I could expect an additional ~40-50+ rwhp increase in power, but at the current configuration (~700 rwhp), I'm reaching the limits of my fuel system....which by the way, I'm still using my Magnavolt BAP from my previous Magnuson 112 s/c install. A new Magnavolt is NOT included with the Heartbeat kit.

So to swap to the smaller pulley would require to upgrade the fuel system to a return style fuel system (~$1,500-2,500 + labor).

I chose to upgrade to the 8-rib option which required I purchase the 8-rib pulley kit (alt, p/s, tensioner, idler pulley(s) from Innovators West at an additional cost of ~$500 + shipping. And a new 8-rib belt (~$50).

Also, keep in mind that if you do chose to install a blower cam, headers, smaller pulley to increase the boost, don't forget the kit provided injectors will need to be upgraded. I'm currently using F.I.C. 80 lb. injectors at a cost of ~$600. The ID1000 injectors will set you back $900-1,000 if you need to go larger.

My 112 Magnuson was max. out at ~570 rwhp and my goal was to make ~625-650 rwhp range. Not knowing what to expect from this new Heartbeat, I was shocked at the results! It just depends on what your goals are and what you plan to do with it. If it's just for the street and to have some fun, the Heartbeat or TVS 2300 are perfect as is. Just consider the "real world" additional costs if you want to turn it up and if the $$$ are actually worth the expense.

Mike

The 81mm pulley should be good for around 700 rwhp if you're LS3, M6 with blower cam and bolt ons. Might need a little meth if you go that far with it. Should be 11 or 12psi on an LS3. Actually, if the Heartbeat is as good as they say it is, 700+ should be easy with the smallest pulley.....providing there's no belt slip.
