Default Fuel Pressure Sensor mounting

I have been wrestling with the fuel pressure sensor and the installation on the rear of my E-Force passenger fuel rail. I have to take off the coils, the entire fuel rail and then I have to get "just the right" fitting to sit back in the small gap. If I set it wrong, I have to remove the rail, adjust, reinstall the injectors (they usually flop out when the rail is pulled) and see if the sensor fits. After having to go in due to an engineering issue by Aeroforce, (the issue is pull the DTC connection for the gauge and it'll blow up the sensor) they came up with a fix by installing a resistor in the circuit so I'm going to do this task again.

BUT! This time I'm going to use this fitting rather than yank out the fuel rail. I will take more pictures while doing the install and post them here but this sure looks like the easiest way to install a fuel pressure gauge. Fitting plugs on to OEM fuel line connection, OEM fuel line plugs onto fitting. Fuel pressure sensor screws into Nitrous Express 16185 3/8 - 10MM fuel rail adapter fitting. All I need now is for the bloody fitting to be the correct size and this could be easy!

First picture: Shows where the sensor will sit on the driver's side of the engine.

Second: More relational view of installation area.

Third: Sensor installed on fitting.

Fourth: Fitting end to connect to OEM fuel pipe with METAL clip.

Fifth Totally bad to use Russell 640730 Fitting DO NOT USE!!!

Do not pay any attention to the posts after this that mention I picked the absolutely incorrect part from Russell. Old people are fun to watch at times but we eventually get enough guidance and do stuff right!

Buddy... seriously, we spoke about this. Don't say I didn't warn you about that Russel fitting. I used one similar and after a while the plastic go weak. When it came apart I was on the highway, and the full fuel flow was running onto my headers. I feel lucky the car didn't catch fire. DO NOT USE THAT !!! Swaglok fitting with a T attached gives the same result...

old vs new..

I am sure thousands use that Russel fitting, and many without issue, but after getting the crap scared out of me, I wouldn't.

What if I reuse the metal part of the connector that I cut off. The plastic piece just pops out, does the OEM metal part do that?

BTW, I've e-mail the Swagelok distributor here in Jax for a price and availability.

Why not use the fitting at the front of the rail? Or can you not use that with the Eforce blower?

Nope, got stuff in the way. Only thing open (I laugh when I type that) is the rear of the passenger fuel rail.

Nitrous express makes a nice gauge adapter as well. It has metal locks instead of plastic.

Damn you! I had made up my mind!

I like this better. I don't have to cut the fuel line and buy a bunch of fittings and couplers!!

Thanks for the post. I've ordered this from Summit.

Elmer,

Are you just installing the gauge, or are you also doing the fuel lines to run to both rails? I would do that while you are at it.
I agree with your first post. Trying to put anything on the back of the passenger side rail is a pain. Very tight to work there.

Just the gauge. I'm not pushing that much HP and I think the fuel supply is adequate. If I had the LS3, then I'd consider splitting the feed to the rails.
